Please can you recommend a really cool small toy that I could put in a party bag for 9 and 10 year olds. Will add the obligatory sweets etc but wanted to include something they’d all keep.

@Lovemelovemydoggie

Can you name one single thing your kid(s) have kept from a party bag?

Kids don't need a gift for coming to a party, they got a party!!

@Meltingsocks my daughter is 14 now so hasn't been given a party bag for about 5 or 6 years but she still has some of the goodies she recieved. Little keyrings, badges, novelty toys like Shopkins, Hot Wheels cars etc.
She is a bit of a horder but every so often bits do still come out and get played with/sorted and when she does decide she no longer wants them they are still in decent condition to pass on to a charity shop or wherever.

Kids don’t need a party, but it’s fun and makes them happy. Same for party bags!

Fun sponges are out tonight.

@Meltingsocks
My DS got a metal compass/torch in a party bag, and has kept it and enjoys using it.
It was a really great gift and I was hoping for a suggestion of something that would be similarly appreciated.
I think you’ve missed the point of the thread.

Where do you get cheap retractable tape measures? They're about a fiver afaik.

Poundshop.

They were much better than the cracker ones.
