It sounds like they went for a job at M&S foid hall but didn't get it.
They are a bit miffed about that because they can advise you on what oven chips will go well with your meal.
And they have a bit of a grudge against the manager who always goes home at 4pm🤷🏼‍♀️

I think the M&S poster wasn’t a troll. I think they posted one or two genuine threads and then someone else posted to take the piss and kept trolling.

If I’m right, I think the original poster had some additional needs and really wanted to work for M&S and improve things.

A poster had applied for a job in M&S and wasn’t successful. She was told she couldn’t apply again for 6 months.

She was upset because she felt she could do the job very well and could up-sell to customers by offerings recommendations to go with their purchases- eg, ask someone if they’d consider pairing the steak they were buying with thick-cut chips. She called this “perfect pairings”.

She was also unhappy that the manager finished each day at 4pm when the store was open until 8/9pm. She couldn’t seem to comprehend that he probably started at 7am and so was scheduled to finish at 4pm. She was suggesting that the store was badly run by this manager and he didn’t hire her so that he wouldn’t be shown up by her superior skills.

I have only seen one post of water trolls on AIBU about asking fishmongers for heads and guts etc and being refused. It went from normal to weird very quickly! Honestly I was gutted when it was deleted as it gave me a good laugh. Hopefully this person is just a joker (or off their head on some very strong weed.) I wouldn’t like to think it was someone who really believes that stuff as that would mean they are really not well.

diagnosis(mine)= delayed processing disorder. i stompt out cos rapid concluded that = slow
specifically follow up letter says sensory processing.....its not a choice.

bear that in mind,also- canny type without look at letters.

Some of these descriptions have really made me laugh. I do also feel sad at the thought of somebody leading such a lonely life and possibly not being well.

I started reading a thread about trapping eels recently and thought it slight eccentric but no more, until the whole thread was deleted. Presumably because it was the work of the water troll again. Sometimes it’s not the content of the thread but the repeated, obsessive nature of the posting activity that makes it trolling.

The plimsoll troll is less pervy than some of you may be imagining. No requests for photos or descriptions of your teenage daughters. Yesterday they took they approach of "When did they stop allowing plimsolls to be used as school shoes? Seems a shame,as they were practical and inexpensive"

That was it. Went pouff! in about 15 minutes!

I have a friend on Facebook who posts water conspiracy theories. She graduated to that from covid conspiracies, and before that anti vax. I wonder if she’s the water troll. I’ve never spotted any on here.

Not so much a troll as such but... when I was in the supermarket very recently there was a woman with a very strong American accent shopping with a toddler in a trolley and she was talking extremely loudly to the child about yo-gurts. "Do you like yo-gurt.. you like this yo-gurt.. you like that yo-gurt etc etc.., The convo went on for ages and she was looking around to see who was listening. It was very annoying and I think deliberate so people could hear her American accent which I was not sure was for real.

So she was the 'American accent in the supermarket troll' !

The M&S troll as in' I need a bra and only M&S will do' ? So why do people pile on and encourage it. It infuriates me !

No the M&S troll is obsessed with working for M&S and is convinced the manager, Aiden, is a pedo who skips off work 4 hours early and refuses to employ her because he's intimidated by her mad skills.

Yes, also that M&S is going downhill, and just not as well run as it used to be. The signage is wrong, the upselling is inadequate, customer service is poor...

It wouldn't be trolling if it wasn't repeatedly posted, in a very distinctive style of writing- somewhat pedantic and old fashioned. Completely uninterested in a conversation, just in getting people to acknowledge that M&S is failing.

Initially I was sure it was a neurodiverse person coming to terms with failing a job interview. Then she started to sound unwell and obsessive.

My favourite was the angry homeless London troll. She kept asking for advice about 'what would you do in this situation' but whenever anyone responded with any suitable advice, they always received a strong angry rebuke! She couldn't contact housing as she had no phone, she couldn't walk to a library as she had no shoes, she couldn't light a camp fire in the woods, catch and trap a badger, eat it, skin it to make a hat etc as London was a no smoke clean air zone!

Loved the M&S troll for sheer mundane ingenuity. Who comes up with such a boring idea?

The M&S Troll I’m talking about just wants to work there, no mention of undies or anything like that.
I know exactly who the M&S underwear pervs are and I do NOT engage with them at all

I was just going to say, this is where it got weird on the M&S threads - she seemed to be implying that ‘Mr 4pm’ was hiring teenage boys and having some sort of nefarious intent with them. And that’s why she wasn’t getting hired.

However, sometimes I think the best thing for some of these threads would be to leave them. I think people who troll get a buzz out of constantly trying to get their thread up and have people engage etc. But if the thread was just left, not deleted, they couldn’t really go anywhere else. If they posted again, nobody would reply. And I think they’d just get bored because everyone recognises them now.

I'm a cynic now with threads and see so many removals in my watch/i'm on list. If it sounds dramatic it's usually fake in my eyes. But then some won't be..
It's like the boy who cried wolf! The fakers are making true stories unbelieveable.
