Employer's gifts

If you get Christmas gifts from your employer, what was the one you liked best? I've been asked to buy gifts (the same for everyone) for our staff. Currently it's all women (30 - 50 age range) and the budget is £100 per person. Apparently they've already done make up bags, passport covers, scarves, candles, vouchers, etc. Please do not suggest money as they also get Xmas bonuses already. Help please as I have no idea what to get! Thank you.

£100 John Lewis or M&S voucher

A Velvetiser would be straight on eBay for me, but so would 90% of the gift suggestions on this thread. On the other hand, you can’t win and giving some employees the opportunity to make some free eBay money, and others something they’ll enjoy, is better than nothing. (Though environmentally I do think “nothing” is the best option.)

They will go straight on ebay or be regifted.....very chavvy item and very naff chocolate.....people are over them now

OP velvetiser is a great present.

I hated my velvetizer, never hit enough, total faff to clean and high calories. Also very expensive chocolate.

I sent it off to Oxfam.

I think most people who wanted one bought it during lockdown. I would reconsider that choice if I were you OP.

Ignore typos. Lost my reading specs.

IfOnlyOCould · 05/11/2022 09:00

Just make sure you provide an individual receipt- do they take them back

That would be a perfect solution. Get the velvetizer from John Lewis with a gift receipt. Then they can return them for something else if they wish.

That would be giving people a voucher but in a stealthy way.

We love our velvetiser, you can use any chocolate in it and find it very easy to clean. But most people who would like one have probably already got one.

Wow. I don't really have a suggestion other than to say wow 😂 I'm public sector so no bonus or gift, and we have to pay if we want to go to the Christmas party....

OP - there's a code for discount on velvetiser on the Christmas bargain thread

Think the hotel chocolat velvetiser is nice idea a lot of people might have thought of it but dismissed it as being too expensive.

pyjamafashionista · 05/11/2022 23:20

Is that to use on the hotel chocolat website?
