Employer's gifts

If you get Christmas gifts from your employer, what was the one you liked best? I've been asked to buy gifts (the same for everyone) for our staff. Currently it's all women (30 - 50 age range) and the budget is £100 per person. Apparently they've already done make up bags, passport covers, scarves, candles, vouchers, etc. Please do not suggest money as they also get Xmas bonuses already. Help please as I have no idea what to get! Thank you.

A Christmas bonus and a gift worth £100! Can I have a job there!

So what if some are disappointed you can never please everyone and they are getting a cash bonus so a present on top is a lucky extra
Many will get nothing

I imagine because it's a waste of the employer's money if there are alternatives less likely to disappoint? (Like a choice of options or similar)

mumda · 03/11/2022 22:03

Amazon voucher and hamper.

ilovepixie · 03/11/2022 22:04

A Lego set.

StrataZon · 03/11/2022 22:05

What about something much coveted but hard to obtain these days ?
Like a dental check up or GP appointment?

Bumzoo · 03/11/2022 22:06

There's literally nothing gift wise listed here that I'd want.

I'd much prefer a voucher for a decent shop

hellsbells99 · 03/11/2022 22:09

Crystal vase
crystal glasses
silver bracelet
luxury face cream or clarins set or similar
luxury throw

CaronPoivre · 03/11/2022 22:15

Really nice candle from White Company and nice towels likewise.
A good tote bag or a travel bag.
A subscription to a book a month for six months

BeaLola · 03/11/2022 22:17

As others have said hard to please everyone

As you mention they are all women what about a £50 voucher for them and then the other £50 x the number of people you're buying for as a donation to the Action Aid charity finding the period packs to end period poverty or fund girls education in y country ?

healthadvice123 · 03/11/2022 22:31

And stop saying voichers OP clearly stated been told no vouchers

mileaminute · 03/11/2022 22:32

You know when you see the word voucher sooooo many times and it becomes really ANNOYING ???

healthadvice123 · 03/11/2022 22:33

@Augend23 but you will never please everyone, 50 people won't all want the same thing even a voucher , and many many won't get anything so would be grateful of a thoughtful firm that buys a gift at all

Robin60 · 03/11/2022 22:34

cashmere wrap/gloves/scarf
travel backpack from Stackers
flower/gin/wine subscription
crossbody bag

Personally I would be thrilled with any of these.
Good luck

mileaminute · 03/11/2022 22:35

How about giving everyone a choice of a gift 'for the senses'

So they can choose between touch (cashmere blankie), taste (food/drink hamper), smell (posh candle), sight (errrrm a bonsai tree to look at?!), sound (something musical)

I dunno. Pfft.

SeamsLegit · 03/11/2022 22:55

Fancy pen?
Something from Tiffany's?

A Betty's hamper.

What the fk is a Betty's Hamper

EspeciallyD · 03/11/2022 22:58

The Le Creuset mugs are nice but we already have more mugs than we have cupboard space for

Betty's is a Yorkshire tea room.

They have multiple locations.

They have a range of hampers including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, cake, chocolate, etc.

bamblie · 03/11/2022 23:12

We got amazing hampers from an ethical company last year. Each goodie had a story such as the chocolate biscuits building schools and soaps supporting rescue dogs. Found the link!

This makes me so angry. People are struggling to heat their homes and an organisation can pay £100 per person on gifts they probably don't even need or want but they've said no vouchers (which might actually be a godsend for someone). Rediculous. Not your fault OP but I wish employers would open their eyes before thinking things like this through. I'd be so angry if my employer got me a useless gift when what I really need is food or money to turn on my heating.

I totally agree!!

Betty's is like just about everything else suggested on this thread. Nice but stupidly priced.

Conveniently for the OP, they do a Christmas Treats hamper for £100.

www.bettys.co.uk/christmas-treats-box

ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for a Christmas cake, some biscuits and a small box of chocolates. Being generous, the contents might cost around £50 in the most expensive ranges in Waitrose or M&S.

Now, I know everyone likes to splash out a bit, especially at Christmas, but there has to be a limit, and at some point, things stop being a treat and start to become a waste of money that most people would weep over because they wouldn't be able to see past how much further they could make a voucher go, on things they actually want or need.

OP how about you offer a choice of £50 hampers and a choice of £50 vouchers, so you don't have any tax implications and money isn't wasted on expensive stuff that many won't want?
