Daisy4569 · 02/11/2022 21:08

Game of thrones!

I'd have to be paid to watch that!

It totally depends on what you like, a clue might be useful

The Sopranos is the best telly ever, in my view.

But I agree with PP it depends what your in to - of your political you can’t not watch the west wing for instance.

CosmopolitanPlease · 02/11/2022 21:14

The Sopranos is the best series ever in my opinion.

CourtAppointedHairdresser · 02/11/2022 21:15

The Witcher

Bemyclementine · 02/11/2022 21:17

@TimeForMeToF1y I've never seen GoT but I'm with you, I don't think I could watch it.

I do really like all sorts. I liked Handmaid's Tale. I was underwhelmed by The Watcher. I liked Dahmer. I do veer towards things that are a bit grim/gritty. I wasn't keen on Outlander - only watched the first series, but was in love with the books from the 90s when I was a teenager so I dont think I was ever going to enjoy watching it.

CourtAppointedHairdresser · 02/11/2022 21:19

If you like gritty, I recommend Jessica Jones.

CourtAppointedHairdresser · 02/11/2022 21:20

Also Person of Interest. Possibly the most underrated show I've watched.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 02/11/2022 21:20

The Wire!

Notonthestairs · 02/11/2022 21:21

I'm sure you will have watched some of them already but these spring to mind -
ER.
The West Wing (if you are interested in politics)
Line of Duty (1-4)
Pride & Predjudice (BBC version)
Broadchurch 1.
The Sopranos (chosen as Rolling Stones best TV series ever)
Band of Brothers
Mad Men
Game of Thrones

& Dinnerladies because we all need a bit of Victoria Wood.

DebbieDoesDoughnuts · 02/11/2022 21:21

Breaking Bad.

First series isn’t great but get a few episodes into series two and you’ll be hooked.

CaveMum · 02/11/2022 21:22

The West Wing should be at (or near) the top of everyone’s list.

On my personal favourite series’ list would also be:

The Crown
House
Scrubs
Buffy
Angel

Notonthestairs · 02/11/2022 21:23

Whoops I wouldn't have mentioned P&P or Dinnerladies if I'd spotted you like gritty Grin
The Wire is a good call.

Bemyclementine · 02/11/2022 21:32

@Notonthestairs P&P is the only thing I've seen from your list. I suffered a few episodes of Dinnerladues with my parents 🤣

Bemyclementine · 02/11/2022 21:33

Hard no to Buffy/Angel. Just doesn't appeal at all

RemindMeAgain · 02/11/2022 21:35

Homeland was great.

Junegirl15 · 02/11/2022 22:10

Would also put The Wire at the top of my list. Also recommend West Wing, House, Bodies (rewatching this at the moment), Line of Duty. Recently watched Anatomy of a Scandal which was not bad.

ThreeRingCircus · 02/11/2022 22:14

Happy Valley on iPlayer. Just excellent acting all round and really gripping. New series coming soon too!

Breaking Bad had us absolutely hooked after a few episodes.

KitchenSupper · 02/11/2022 22:16

West Wing
The Americans

skippy67 · 02/11/2022 22:19

Homeland.
Prison Break.
The Wire.

Calandor · 02/11/2022 22:23

Orange is the New Black
House of the Dragon
Stranger Things
Pesky Blinders
Vikings
The Last Kingdom

I really do recommend Game of Thrones. It's fantastic. Not sure why people wouldn't be able to watch it.

Calandor · 02/11/2022 22:23

Peaky* not pesky

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 02/11/2022 22:25

Mad Men, i binged it all a couple of years ago and it’s probably my favourite series I’ve ever watched.

AnotherFuckingUsername · 02/11/2022 22:30

As others have said, Sopranos and Mad Men. I'd also add The Wire. Possibly Boardwalk Empire.
