UVB lamps for eczema

Has anyone tried one of the handheld n-UVB lamps for eczema/psoriasis and had good results? I really don’t want to keep using steroid creams and her skin is much better in the summer so I hoped it might help. But they’re £200 so it’s an expensive experiment, and it sounds a bit too good to be true. Would love to hear some feedback either way. Website reviews don’t give much away! Thanks.

I’ve been wondering about getting one too. Hope you don’t mind ne sticking around to see what answers you get.

I just bought one for my Psoriasis and I can see the difference in only a few weeks.

DH got one, unfortunately it's made very little difference.

DH hired a tan stand for a month, cleared his psoriasis up and it's never come back (except a tiny bit on one eyebrow).

Good luck to everyone out there!

Ooooh, has anyone had success treating dishydrotic eczema/pompholyx with one of these? I get terrible flare ups sometimes and my GP isn't keen on constantly prescribing steroid cream!

I have one from my dermatologist through health insurance and can't say that it's working wonders to be honest. Still have flare ups while using it. I also wouldn't use it without the advice of a specialist, it has to be built up for much shorter times than you would think. I started at 17 seconds every second day until there were no reactions building up slowly to 80 seconds over time.

Thanks @MollyRover I wasn’t aware of this. Definitely something to think about.
