My kids have unusual eye colours. How would you label them?

One of my sons has green eyes and sometimes they look properly deep green and sometimes more hazel, it’s really odd. When he’s been in the shower they’re properly green, we joke that he washes his eyes clean!
My husband’s are green hazel with gold flecks in them, the show off. Other son, and me, both have blue but his are nicer than mine, they kind of have a starburst pattern on them, whereas mine are just normal dark blue.

KangarooKenny · 29/10/2022 11:03

Green and grey, not unusual.

Green and grey, not unusual.

Green and grey are said to be the rarest eye colours though. At around 3 per cent and 1 per cent of the world’s population respectively.

Green, and blue-grey.

Little green-eyes has a lucrative future side-earner as an eye-model

TerrifyingGhostTrain · 29/10/2022 11:34

both sets of eyes look unusual to me! They’re pale green and grey respectively. I think the most unusual feature is that each child has a concentric darker coloured (dark blue?) ring around the ‘main’ colour?

both beautiful Smile

RandomMess · 29/10/2022 11:36

Hazel is usually a mix of all 3 colours but can vary greatly in latter and look.

I have a ring of brown, ring of green, ring of blue - have been told by optometrist it's very unusual.

TootMootZoot · 29/10/2022 11:46

Grey green - very pretty and more unusual

Blue grey - very pretty but common.

My four kids all have dark brown eyes so I'm a sucker for lighter eyes.

Central heterochromia, as these threads always are Wink

My eyes were blue until the age of 6 then went to this green colour!

I also had blonde hair until 6, then it went to brunette.

Beautiful shade

Robostripes · 29/10/2022 12:50

This is my eye colour which I would describe as grey/green - I don’t meet many people with similar!

I agree with others, both your children have beautiful eyes, one bluey green and the other bluey grey.

@Trinity65 Thank you!

Green and grey.
I have green eyes and love them.

Sushi7 · 29/10/2022 14:11

The first child has green-ish eyes (a less common shade) and the other has grey eyes which are very common, almost as common as brown eyes. Green and bright blue (as an adult) are less common.

Beautiful, very similar to my second daughter. I said unusual as like you I rarely or never see anyone else with this eye colour

Really I never see anyone else with grey eyes. I assumed they were not common

Thank you. The first I always label green but to be honest they have more yellow than green but yellow is never an option. They second kid literally has no colour they are just grey, I see a few ppl said blue but they have no blue in them that I can see.

Where are you labelling them that has options not including yellow? I've literally never had to fill in anything, with options or without, asking my or my childrens eye colours? I'm obviously just being nosey here 👀

strawberrytilda · 29/10/2022 20:01

I have the same colour as the second ones and everyone says mine are light blue. The first ones are really unusual and beautiful.

I mean on any eye colour chart I have seen but yes I could write what I like of course

Gorgeous

I would say more grey but they are v unusual (in the right way)

NCFT0922 · 30/10/2022 12:30

They’re green and blue and not unusual.

Bemoredog · 30/10/2022 12:38

Light green and grey. Both gorgeous.

Typical the way people jump on here to tell you they're not that unusual, when stats shown up thread clearly show they are!

Medoca · 30/10/2022 12:43

I would say grey is more common that bright blue. Maybe they all fade to grey when older, my husband has the same, my mum’s are more like your first picture. If you take a close up on anyone’s eyes, they are so unique and would look unusual on their own. Personally I think deep dark brown is beautiful and quite uncommon, I’m very jealous of those with that eye colour.

Montague22 · 30/10/2022 12:45

Pale green and grey blue

PinkSyCo · 30/10/2022 12:57

Green and greeny grey.
