I was poaching some eggs the other day, and it always something I've found really easy. I hear people talking about how difficult it is to poach eggs but I dont get it - heat up the water, swirl it, drop the eggs in and a few minutes later hike them out again. First time I asusmed it was beginers luck, but I always seem to nail it. Also folding fitted sheets. Just get your fingers in the corners and fold the bloody thing - I don't see why people say it's hard.

but this isn't purley bragging - because I can't crack an egg properly to save my life! I had 2 eggs most mornings for years, so its not a lack of practice - but I very rarely get a nice clean break and no shell in the egg! I've tried all different techniques, on the side of the pan/bowl, on a flat surface, using a knife - none seem to work for me.

Got me wondering if other people have things that find easy that are supposed to be hard and visa versa

And before you ask, yes it is a slow day at work!

I can hear a song just once and sing most of the words correctly on hearing it a second time.

I can tell you what song any given lyrics are from.
However I have no clue who the artist is.

I can parallel park so tightly that you can't walk in front or behind the car. I find it so easy.

I never used to be able to remember a set of numbers, like you get a text with a passcode to enter. No matter how hard I tried.
I was worried it was an early sign of dementia, so I've really worked on it and now I can do it fine.

I make a great omelette but have a really abysmal sense of direction.

I am ace at Guess The Year on Popmaster.

I am utterly shite at knitting despite being super-crafty.

Great at directions and I generally have a ‘feel’ for which way is south. The only thing that confuses that is internal stairways which twist round and round (think a block of flats). I couldn’t believe it the first time I went up one and the sea wasn’t where I expected it to be.

Terrible at slicing bread and tessellating products in the fridge/freezer. If it takes more than 1 attempt I lose all patience and start just jamming stuff in and breaking packaging. My husband generally hears the crashing and drags me away 🤣

I have the same sense of direction thing - we can drive all around the country and walk around a forest or some weird little villages and I always know which direction home is and how to get back to the car/place we're staying when most others are lost. Weirldly though I went to New York a while back and on grid system where it should be easy my sense of direction totally failed me! Every single time I was sure I knew which way to go I was wrong!

I'm great at remembering names and things about people.

Terrible at maths and giving back change. I worked in a shop as a teenager and it used to baffle me when you told some one an amount, they used to give you all this random change in exchange for a £10 ( or whatever note) I understood it as a customer but it used to blow my mind trying to work out the correct change 😁
