@liveforsummer he is absolutely vile!

Oh didn't read this until after I posted, but it's certainly not what I've heard.

SirChenjins · 20/10/2022 11:52

Sophie Raworth
Tony Robinson
Any of the Horrible Histories writers/cast

Tony Robinson is an arrogant little shit unpleasant individual.

CaptainSensiblesRedBeret · 20/10/2022 11:53

@Solosunrise Thank you! My love for Michael Palin was been ongoing for forty years now. The devastation if he is anything but utterly wonderful ❤️

Pugalicious · 20/10/2022 11:54

Sick and tired of people slagging David Jason off. His mum in law is good friends with my partner's mum and she knows David and his wife well. He is lovely. He is a quiet and thoughtful man. Not fair to say these things when you do not know a person

Adultchildofelderlyparents · 20/10/2022 10:45

Penelope Wilton. I've always thought she seems like the most lovely of all people.

I love Penelope Wilton. Always wished she could’ve been my mum!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 20/10/2022 11:54

Michael ball - I think I'd be gutted if he was!

He always comes up on 'have you met a celebrity' threads with multiple people calling him the kindest, friendliest person ever.

We better hope it just never happens Grin

Growing up I thought he was a murderer 🤦‍♀️😂
every time he was on tv my parents would have this hushed conversation about him and I’d catch bits of it like ‘yes, he is’ or ‘he definitely is how awful’ and ‘shouldn’t really be on kids tv’ and I would think ‘oh no he must be something awful? A murderer ?’ As they spoke so seriously . I think I know now what they were speculating about but as a young child the worst thing I thought someone could be was a murderer so on hearing their shock I applied my own logic

BitOutOfPractice · 20/10/2022 11:55

Ken Bruce
Sue Giedroyc
Bill Bailey
Neil Nunes (not really a celeb but my god that man's voice! I adore it and him.)

BiscuitLover3678 · 20/10/2022 11:55

The Obamas

DameHelena · 20/10/2022 11:56

Read on here that someone met Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal with her DS and Roger Federer was snooty and impatient and not interested. In contrast to Rafa, who apparently crouched down so the DS could talk to him properly, was sweet, and just laughed when the DS told him his favourite player was Djokovic Grin

Benedict Cumberbatch: an acquaintance met him in a work capacity and said he was rude, although I don't have any further details. But he's one of my top celebrity fantasy shags, so I persist in thinking it was a one-off/a bad day.

MeridianB · 20/10/2022 11:56

I can personally vouch for for following as being really lovely:
Claudia Winkleman
Maggie Smith
Martin Lewis
Kate Garraway
Anna richardson
Chris Tarrant
David Tennant

Not so much Martine McCutcheon.

I also met Tom Hanks backstage at a show and he was totally amazing and as lovely as you would want him to be, but not sure it counts as it was still in a 'work' environment.

Becknutmeg · 20/10/2022 11:56

Alan Rickman
Richard Ayoade

Xtraincome · 20/10/2022 11:57

Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters
Stephen King
Any of the cast of BBC Ghosts

DameHelena · 20/10/2022 11:58

Samuel West CANNOT be anything other than lovely and delightful. I refuse to countenance it. He's a joy on Twitter and he IS a joy in real life, I just know it.

evilharpy · 20/10/2022 11:58

Lots that people have already mentioned.

Dwayne Johnson
Keanu Reeves
Paul Rudd
Tony Hart (I would be beyond devastated)
Benedict Cumberbatch
Daniel Ricciardo
Dave Grohl (although of everyone mentioned in the thread I think he's the least likely to be a twat)
Craig Revel-Horwood (I reckon in real life he's very sweet)
Lady Gaga

Has anyone said Prue Leith? I love her and refuse to believe she could ever be unpleasant.

So do I.

I can feel in my very bones that he is a delight, as an actor and as a human being.

MarpleFan · 20/10/2022 12:00

Catterbat · 20/10/2022 11:50

Richard E Grant. He seems like the nicest man alive, I’d be gutted if it wasn’t true.

I can vouch for the fact that he is. I run an event every year which he attends and is lovely to every member of staff, and goes down to the kitchen to personally thank everyone from the head chef to the kitchen porters for their hard work.

liveforsummer · 20/10/2022 12:01

he's a friend's friends very close friend and by all accounts lovely, my friend has met him a few times & I trust her judgement.

Ah, a friend of a friend of a friend - you must know him well then 😅

NightmareSlashDelightful · 20/10/2022 12:01

Cher. And Victoria Wood. (Now there's a fantasy dinner party...)
