I don’t see how it’s any different to me pretending to be nice to people at work that I can’t stand.

No, I agree; but I think there's a big difference between somebody you know you can't stand and somebody you've only just met and are being nasty to by default - especially when, as a celeb, they are likely to be one of many people who have put you in the privileged position that you're now in.

There's also a big difference between being quiet, reserved or distant and full-on verbally abusive - especially when you are the one approaching them.

I mentioned Dave Grohl in another post buried pages back. My OH met him at an Awards Ceremony and they ended up "side by side" in the toilets together chatting. He's funny, approachable, and an all round excellent bloke.

When I was a kid we used to watch Bergerac (sp?) And my mum was a massive fan. We were on holiday in Jersey and we saw him in a restaurant we were eating at. We asked mum if she was going to speak to him but she said no as it was rude to interrupt his meal but kept glancing over at him ....so I missed the opportunity to find out! (Maybe luckily?)

@SilentHedges I'm so glad to hear this. My DH says he seems like a bloke you could definitely have a pint with (which is high praise from DH)!

That he used to host "cuddle parties" and that there are photos of him with an underage girl that are being used to blackmail him.

Jason Bateman - always loved him as an actor and loved everything he's been in. Be devastated to find out he's horrible in rl,

Tom Cruise - he's known to be nice to fans, interested in what he's like with staff.

Morgan Freeman - he's got such presence on screen, hope he's nice in rl,

Prince William - always sensed he was a decent sort (never had a good sense about Harry and don't believe the cheating rumours) so would like to know if he squeezes his own toothpaste and ties his own shoes, as opposed to his Dad who needs a servant to do it apparently.

Robert Downey Junior, Chris Evans and Henry Cavill - all gorgeous and would hate to think they're knobs.
