The Supervet has just popped up on the Daily Mail.

sad for him

I just came on here to say how weird it is that 18hrs after lots of people on here said he's a wro g un, his awful backstory becomes public. Truth, coincidental timing, or damage limitiation and preemptive attack?

Flotilla Benjamin

What a fabulous typo!!! If we can have Boaty McBoatFace, we must have the next group of high-profile boats called Flotilla Benjamin Grin

😮

Why would my phone change Floella to fecking Flotilla!! (Had to attempt Floella a few times there to make it stay.) It's not like I'm typing the word flotilla loads!!!

Anyway, if we get a boat named after Floella I'll let my weird autopredict off.

@Tessabelle74 I actually haven't heard anything bad about him in RL, I always quite fancied him on strictly lol.

The Supervet is an arrogant arse who sometimes seems to put the welfare/quality of life of the pets he’s treating second to the potential professional kudos of achieving some new ground-breaking treatment.

Very much the reaction I got from other vets. Just because you can doesn't mean you should, particularly for animals who have no concept of the future and can't understand or rationalise what's happening to them. Super Vet wouldn't be allowed within 50 paces of an animal of mine.

There’s a very interesting profile of him on the Times Online. A very complex, damaged and - yes - peculiar individual. He’s like the classic stereotype of the brilliant, sociopathic consultant surgeon, or some interpretations of Sherlock Holmes.

Fridayfundays · 22/10/2022 00:15

@Twonewcats What’s his awful backstory?

Ishouldnthavehadthat · 22/10/2022 00:17

Billy Connolly

Noelfieldingsjumpers · 22/10/2022 00:27

Ooh thought of another one, Cain Dingle, Jeff someone? Bet he's nice. I read Kelvin Fletcher that played Andy Sugden in emmerdale was really silly in a nightclub, with the "don't you know who I am?" scenario. I think it might have been on here. He might have just been young and drunk though.

I can personally vouch that Ben Shepherd is lovely IRL ☺️

Didn’t doubt it! ..

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 22/10/2022 00:50

Please don’t be like Miriam Margoyles , she is vile . My mother’ close friend had a relationship with her & she was awful .

Ashspeed · 22/10/2022 02:19

Have worked for a few celebs and can say that, in my experience of them, Mark Owen is lovely, Jamie Rednapp and Louise were lovely and so respectful to staff and Peter Stringfellow was such a nice guy to be around.

Jasper Carrot was an arse and Colin Firth shocked me by being very rude.

Not saying this is a true reflection of people, just my experiences and everyone has bad days and just because you are a celebrity does not mean you are not human first.

Would love to know if Henry Cavill and Chris Evans are mostly lovely though 😉

Terry Wogan

Genuinely awesome man

I worked with him. Very brief thing for children in need. He was utterly professional and charming. I only spent a few hours with him and came away beaming

I also used to go to the bbc gym in the same building where he did his radio show. I was ridiculously early and got there for when it opened. Used to see him arrive for his show. Every time he'd thank his driver. Walk up to the door. And say hello and have a chat with the security guard. He was friendly to absolutely everyone.

Is that possibly a sarcastic comment ? Because....

Mark knopfler.

Yes! And I would never have thought of him otherwise.

Backstreets · 22/10/2022 06:40

@Iwouldgoouttonight73 I think Madonna's pretty established as a rude/direct person, but I was pleasantly surprised when a friend told me a friend of hers worked for Madonna, and I was like, jesus! What' she like to work for! And she said apparently she expects a high standard but really rewards hard work and is fair, which I thought both tracked and was a good indication of character!

Personally I think I'd feel sad if Ralph Macchio came out as a pest/bastard at the age of sixty! He seems lovely.

pompomdaisy · 22/10/2022 06:55

Alan Rickman
Stephen Fry

I dunno 🤷‍♀️ who cares really

LoisLane66 · 22/10/2022 07:26

Monty Don or David Attenborough.

I wouldn’t be gutted, but not gonna lie I’d love to know if Sam ryder was a bit of a wanker irl... that guy is too happy, he seems like a decent guy but the over zealous positive vibes creep me out...

if zac efron was vile irl I think I might have a mini meltdown. He’s appealed to me at every stage of my life. He’s the same age, he can dance, sing and act... I just don’t know if I’d manage to keep it in if he turned out to be a dick.

I know someone that went to school with Sam Ryder who said that’s genuinely how he is and always has been and is just a proper nice bloke, and has always been insanely talented.

Billy Connolly

OH has met and interviewed him, Billy is funny, warm, articulate, and an all round outstanding person.

@WalkingInTheAir13

I can vouch for Kevin Ashman, he is absolutely lovely, I've known him a long time.

And everyone saying Matt Baker, he is as lovely and genuine as he comes across, he was one of the best people I worked with.

Alexander Armstrong is the most vile individual, I worked for a company who supplied something to a house he bought, it was delayed. He phoned me a shouted and swore and was horrible. Uma thurman was delightful, as was John Galliano.

A friend of mine worked with him and said he was lovely. Maybe he had been messed around by other people in your company and was at the end if his rope when he spoke to you. This happened to me when I was trying to track da missing delivery recently. By the time I'd been given several different numbers to ring, been cut off twice, left holding and holding and had one person flatly deny I'd ever ordered anything I was a frothing lunatic.

AnImaginaryCat · 21/10/2022 20:56

Several mentioned already (including David Attenborough, Alan Rickman, Flotilla Benjamin).

One not mentioned is Roy Castle. If it turned out he wasn't nice my whole childhood would turn out a lie.

Think I'm safe though, he died a long time ago and nothing has surface. Not even any bubbles as far as I'm aware.

A friend of mine worked as an accompanist for Floella Benjamin, and she wasn't very nice, apparently. Maybe she was having a bad day...
