Tom Hanks himself says he isnt Mr Nice Guy (though that doesn't mean he is vile).

I read an interview with him years ago where he said he wouldn't have survived this long in Hollywood by always being nice. A quick google shows more recent interviews where he says the same thing

I once got lost looking for my bosses house,and accidentally drove in to Julie Walters lovely drive. She came out wiping her hands on a tea towel and gave us the right directions. She was lovely.

I used to live next door to Billy Connolly, he was really tall! Very friendly and lovely twinkly eyes.
