Is anybody here on Vinted?

I've only just discovered it and I'm in my element. As an avid charity shopper it is a dream come true 😂

Highlights for me have been my daughters Lelli Kelly high tops, almost brand new and sold to me at the bargain price of £8.

Maxamorra, Frugi, Mini Boden, DUNS Sweden bundles for my littler ones. So much lovely stuff that I'll be able to sell on again once they've grown out of it.

Does anybody else use it? Have you grabbed any good bargains you want to share?

I find listing an item so much quicker on Vinted than on EBay.

AnnaMagnani · 17/10/2022 20:58

Buying - and going slightly mad as I've gone down several sizes.

Dress arrived with morning, £20, as new condition, would have been £400+. And it looks so much better than on the hanger.

Not sure I'll buy new ever again.

Lots of scammers on there too. Beware. I've been done twice, and you have only two days to make a complaint or you lose your money. There is zero customer service on telephone - everything done through online messaging. I wouldn't buy any big ticket item <looking at you, bloody fake and non existent freaking Evisu jeans>.

Oh dear, I'm really sorry to hear that. What happened?!

I felt quite secure buying on there as most of the sellers I've bought from had feedback but buyers also get a money back protection guarantee thingymabob for paying a small percentage on top of the price.

Did you get your money back?

I find it great, I’ve sold lots in there but only ever for low prices so I’ve never had any come back. I’m selective about what I buy but I’ve had a few bargains, a leather bag from accessorise for £8 and trainers for the kids for £3-£5.

Mrsmch123 · 17/10/2022 21:31

I don't buy on it but I sell my child's clothes. Made around £300. It's great. Don't sell my stuff as it's all old and tatty🙈

I LOVE vinted. My DS is obsessed with SpongeBob, he's desperate for SpongeBob toys and teddy's etc. they're actually basically impossible to find in the shops but I went on vinted and got him loads of stuff for a fraction of what people were selling them on eBay. I'm going to have a very happy DS come Christmas morning :)

Julia37 · 17/10/2022 21:42

i have just started using Vinted. Unfortunately Yodel state they have delivered an item however I have not received it, Yodel tracking says handed to resident. I was at home all day if was supposedly delivered and if definitely wasn’t! I have checked with my neighbours aswell. I have reported this to Vinted, does anyone know what happens now? Vinted have not released the funds to the seller as yet.

Vinted has such terrible review on Trustpilot, I am worried I am going to end up being charged for an item I have not received.

stillvicarinatutu · 17/10/2022 21:46

I don't how scammers can use it because sellers don't get paid until you say you've received the item and it's all ok ?

witchesbubblebath · 17/10/2022 21:53

'As an avid charity shopper it is a dream come true 😂'
My thoughts too. I love the money going to charity, but alot are charging too much right now for things like very worn Nike trainers for £14 and such.
Vinted is brilliant.

witchesbubblebath · 17/10/2022 21:57

I'm happy because I bought a handmade liberty print skirt for under £4. Very personal touch. It's lovely and made from needle cord.

EmilyEmmabob · 17/10/2022 22:01

I've recently been selling on there, not making loads of money but better than nothing. I've bought a few bnwt items for DS for a fraction of what they would have cost me.

So far no problem with scammers but I wouldn't sell my designer things on there because it's too risky.

ChocChipOwl · 17/10/2022 22:02

Lots of bargains!

A £600 Isabel Marant cost for £60

A brand new pair of tall Uggs for £13

A brand new hush leather jacket - current stock £295 - got it for £50

Whistles green leopard skirt £79. Got it for £8

Those are just off the top of my head - I go through phases

User2344 · 17/10/2022 22:21

I love it! Its so addictive. I just cant stop buying, especially since there seems to be an influx of sellers and there are so many nice things being listed every day. Please help me god, I really need to stop browsing but I cant ....

BMWfries · 17/10/2022 22:23

I love buying and selling on there and I have lots of saved searches for brands I love in my size. Saved so much money and also made a nice tidy sum

just bought something now and they’re now charging more postage than it costs which is cheeky if the seller doesn’t end up with it to cover packaging.

Squiff70 · 17/10/2022 22:36

Yep, very recently hooked. Managed to find my partner a Rick & Morty t-shirt, brand new with original tags for less than £2 plus £1.99 delivery. Also bought my newborn son a beautiful pramsuit. He grew out of it in 2 weeks but that was around £4.50 including delivery too. It was in immaculate condition and I'm hoping to sell it on.

HGC2 · 17/10/2022 23:01

Selling my first item now, what does it mean when people favourite your item? Does that mean they can see if you reduce the price? What else should I know as a newbie?

Mrsmch123 · 17/10/2022 23:21

@HGC2 its a bit like an "like" button. So they can come back and look at it without having to scroll through.
i don't ask for loads of money for items as they just don't sell otherwise. I find listing it for a price but then reducing after say a week if it doesn't sell helps shift it. Suppose it depends on how happy you are to have the stuff lying around.
i always iron clothes before listing them as they sell better and take good clear pics. Be mindful of the background. Nothin worse than a nice item then you see a messy bed/room in the background. Maybe doesn't bother others but it would bother me if I was buying

stillvicarinatutu · 17/10/2022 23:25

No
Absolute bargains but today got some beautiful dune leather boots delivered- £5 .
Wore them all day and perfect! They're still in the website for £160 .

stillvicarinatutu · 17/10/2022 23:26

I have a cashmere and silk jumper on there that cost £300 if anyone would like it for £32!

Never worn . Size 10 !

TheFormidableMrsC · 17/10/2022 23:35

Had some lovely bits for my 11 yo son. I also got a new with tags Mint Velvet handbag for 7.50! I couldn't believe it! Guilt free shopping!

akabluebell · 17/10/2022 23:43

Loving vinted. I bought Next sneakers bnwt for £10, a Hobbs puffer for £5, a Cos trench for £30 and a Biba sequinned full length dress for £12 plus a few phase eight dresses for £8 to £20. I've sold loads too. Have made £200 even with my purchases taken into account. It's a win win isn't it? Plus sustainable. My only thought is I wonder whether any of the bnwt is proceeds from shoplifting . . .
