Just oil have played a blinder, crossing shut for 24hrs, traffic backed up everywhere spouting fumes 🤬🤬
why can’t they just open the bridge and let traffic flow ? They’re tied on so if they fall they’ll only dangle 🤷🏻‍♂️

They came down at 5 and were arrested. Selfish people, it’s affected everyone locally and will cause more long term damage than good. I’m all for protesting rights and saving the environment but not when it harms innocent people and businesses. I hope they face a fine and time in prison.

Me too. Glad they are down and arrested.

So, given that we are already facing the effects of climate breakdown- that is due to get far, far worse if we continue to use fossil fuels at the rate we do, that our government is allowing new oil and gas exploration -what would YOU suggest they do to bring this to people's attention- that they haven't done already? This is borne out of true desperation.

(And to the PP suggesting that they're attention seeking: well, yes. That's rather the point 🙄).

What do you want people to do, to demonstrate they are aware and mindful of the situation

Flagellate themselves every day?

Thes protestors and people with your view seem to think that you are the only person who can feel something or know something so deeply and righteously that unless you shout and scream about it, no one else knows or cares about it.

Its the same with every cause, protestors or activists announce the problem or issue as if they have only just heard about it and no one else knows about it and needs 'educating', despite the fact that action has been being taken for years and years.

If this thread is anything to go by they're not really gaining public support are they...

Me too. Glad they are down and arrested.

I wonder if those that were affected could take them to the small claims court for the amount of money lost due to their selfish actions.

Dd managed to get to work but had to do a 2 .5 hour journey. 1/2 a tank of diesel and the Ulez zone charge Together with the 8 hours of wasted time from yesterday. £207.50 is the least they owe her.

For me I have not worked for 2 days so another £500

It is starting to add up.

One of them said he has no future.

If we can take him to the small claims court he will find he has no money either.
Then he might have to work and not piss about climbing bridges and creating chaos for fun

Given the damage they have done this wasn’t about climate change

How about showing people cheaper and easier methods to get around and do stuff.
What they can do to mitigate their electric bills. Their fuel bills. How people could recycle and get paid for it.

Something that actually helps the climate rather than stupid protests that damage the climate. These protests just put people off and cost people time and money as well as their jobs, homes and businesses and put their life in dangers

A couple of years ago it was Insulate Britain who supposedly wanted to insulate every home in Britain
They could have helped people to fill out the forms for the government grant to insulate their home or advertised the government grants more so people knew of them.

What did Insulate Britain do? They sat in the middle of the road and told the government to do more.
What did the government do
Got rid of the grant because there were too few people who signed up for it
