Anybody take an NMN supplement?

Been listening to David Sinclair and thought I'd try an NMN supplement but they are so expensive and I'm suspicious of the amazon ones, very few reviews. If you take NMN would you recommend a particular brand? I think it comes in powder or tablet. I don't mind spending a bit but £100 for one box of tablets is a bit too much.

Hi Dandyrose

I'm loving NMN. I definitely feel more energetic!

I'm 44 and have been trying for a baby for over 3 years. I read about NMN and started taking it 3 months ago. It's only cost me £18 a month. The brand I'm buying is Vitablossom. It could be coincidence but today I've found out I'm pregnant!!

I would definitely recommend NMN for energy and to improve well-being.

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone else had tried it. I've just started it today!

I just searched "NMN" to see if there are any threads about it because I'm interested to know people's experiences with it.

I'm considering taking it. I'm interested in powder, maybe sublingual, but every time I think about making the purchase, I start wondering if it's really for me (that is, will I benefit from taking it), wondering about potential unwanted side effects, and wondering how I will know that it's working. And I've read that to take resveratrol alongside NMN is beneficial but don't know if I should go ahead and buy that, too. I don't even know what it is! I'm torn between just going for it and telling myself I might be thankful for the decision in twenty years' time, and just, well, not...

@LongTermLurker, I know it's only been a few days since you started taking it, but have you noticed any effects of NMN so far?! Do you have a sport, and if you do have you noticed that you've improved in it? Are you taking resveratrol or any other supplements alongside the NMN?

I do. I've been taking it for nearly two years now and it's made a huge difference to my energy levels. I read David Sinclair's book, then listened to a lot of podcasts and looked at the research evidence before I first tried it. I was also very choosy about suppliers and settled for Do Not Age as they provide evidence of purity etc.

(I'm late 60s by the way, and NMN is one of the supplements I take. The other that has made the most noticeable difference is collagen which has improved my skin, hair and nails considerably).

Just to add to my previous post, I lead a very active life. I attend five gym classes plus two sessions of gym circuits each week. I'm not sure how much NMN has contributed to my fitness but I don't have any health problems at all (other than some very minor joint problems in my wrist and hip which come and go).

i take sublingual NMN as does my partner he finds himself super energetic in the mornings. I dont need to nap as much with it

LongTermLurker · 28/07/2023 19:44

I can't offer any helpful anecdata I'm afraid. In the last few months I've started taking vitamin D and a low dose of oestrogen pretty much at the same time. One or both of them seemed to pep me up and my slightly achy joints felt much better.

Then more recently I've started taking creatine, ashwagandha, and a NMM and resveratrol combo capsule, and I'm feeling pretty awesome!

I'm also having a daily coffee. I was sworn off caffeine for years as it made me so anxious and sleepless, but I'm feeling chilled enough to try it again.

I'm generally sleeping much better (although not last night. I'd forgotten to take the ashwagandha... Might be coincidence).

I'm a runner and have had so much more energy and enthusiasm for it, it's unreal! When though I enjoy running, I usually have to kind of force myself out the door, but it just seems so much easier now. My legs feel springy, and I just feel more able/willing to push harder. Got several Strava PBs on segments today.

I wish I'd taken a more methodical approach as I have no idea what's helping. Could just be the hrt? Although it's just one spray of lenzetto, and i realised today that I've been spraying the last dregs out of the bottle for the last 10 days or so. The instructions say to bin it after 56 days, which I think must be to prevent a dosage issue. The squirt has been looking noticeably smaller.

Anyway, I'm just going to have to keep everything going! 🤷

watersprites · 28/07/2023 19:49

@LongTermLurker where do you buy your capsule please?

LongTermLurker · 28/07/2023 19:53

I got it on Amazon. Azaroe is the brand, I think?

watersprites · 29/07/2023 06:14

thanks!

HappyMummy2323 · 22/10/2025 10:34

Oh I completely understand your hesitation! It's such a minefield trying to figure out which brands are trustworthy.

I've been using Longevity Formulas NMN capsules for near on 8 months now and I'm really pleased with them. you can see exactly what's in each batch because they put up their certificates, which gives me peace of mind. With Amazon I always worry about what I'm actually putting in my body, especially when you know how much Amazon takes from sellers. It does make you wonder about corners being cut! But that might just be me.

Anyway, where i get it from is no where near 100 either, I pay £38 on subscription for mine but tbh, I just really like them. I asked them loads of questions before purchasing (probably drove them mad!) and they were so patient and helpful. They actually stopped me from buying one of their more expensive product because it wasn't right for me, which they didn't have to do.

Hope that helps!

ZingyRedLion · 08/04/2026 09:07

Yep, I take that one too! My OH and I took it for a few months before trying to get pregnant, both a bit older so wanted to do anything that could help with conception and we managed first time. Given how NMN helps elsewhere I'd wager it had a good effect on our fertility. I love the stuff. Plus the Longevity Formulas one isn't stupidly expensive.
