Handhold in A&E with toddler

Is anyone up?

in A&E with my little one. She has had a high fever for 48hours - suspected uti so brought her in. Urine clear thank god. But her temp is really struggling to come down and her heart rate is high so they want to keep her in to monitor her 💔

Not sure why I’m posting. I’m terrified and just want her temp to come down.

We have just had a similar situation! Temps of 40 and seemingly no cause!!!!
It was her tonsils!!
Ibuprofen far far more effective at bringing her temp down!
She's been unwell since Tuesday, antibiotics started Thursday and only just staring to see an improvement in her!

Interesting lots of tonsillitis stories. The A&E doc did check her throat and ears but said they seemed ok. I think if temp still hanging around tomorrow morning will try and get her to the GP for another opinion.

I used to get tonsillitis as a child and be delirious with fever. It’s agony.

Thank you so much for your stories and support ❤️‍🩹

So weird! Exactly the same timeliness.
Dd came through on Tuesday temp at 39.8.
Ibuprofen only effective and rotating with paracetamol.
No other symptoms except headache.
Took to docs on Thursday. Tonsillitis!
She is so much better today. No fever, headache gone.
Seems very common.
