What are you up to right now?

I am very smugly sitting in a nice warm bed, not long out of the shower, coffee in hand, laptop on knee and watching Netflix. Kids in school and I have a very rare day off work. I do not feel one bit guilty saying I have been here since school drop off and plan another hour till I have to get up and fix lunches. Bliss.

After my daughter woke at 4:55am, she has thankfully fallen asleep in the car. Sat on the driveway while she catches up with sleep in the back!

at the moment I am making a cup of coffee then plan to watch the Liz Truss press conference which I think is at 2 pm. Then after that I need to do the school run via Tesco as I have to buy school shirts and underpants.

somewhere in there I also have to finish off the bolognese sauce I am making.

Finished work at 12:15. Popped to garden centre on my way home. Lunch and now got sucked into the shite that is our current government. Need to do a bit of a whizz round and tidy up a bit at some point

Sat on the sofa with my 2 year old who's had a awful couple of nights, sleeping on me, just wish I'd not left my cup if tea in the kitchen as I do not want to get up and risk waking him!

It’s 9:50 pm here Friday night. All tucked up in bed and off to sleep soon. It’s a rare Friday night when everyone is home ( DH, kids 21 and 19 and myself) Good times.

Sitting in the car waiting to pick the DC up. We normally walk home but we go to the library on a Friday.

I've spent most of the day putting their summer clothes away and sorting out the winter stuff, plus I went for a run this morning, so my feet hurt and I'm tired. Hopefully they're in pleasant moods...

I'm also quite depressed and have been on ADs.

I'm beginning to feel a bit more purposeful when I

  1. Finish a job / work / task and feel pleased.
  2. spend time with friends / text a friend
  3. help someone / your children or whatever
  4. cuppa outside listening to birds, planes, wind in the leaves, feeling breeze on face and looking upwards at clouds / stars / blue sky / whatever
  5. self care = paint nails, do hair, cleanse face or whatever. No matter how small.

So today I cooked a curry, messaged my best friend, helped DS with homework, had my daily outdoor cuppa, almost got shat on by a bird and painted my nails.
