Having just discovered that I love peanut butter, I mostly have it on toast. What else goes well with it?

Some delicious combos above.

My favourites are Marmite and peanut butter, pb on crumpets, and a dollop with a plate of salad.

DH sometimes takes peanut butter and raisin sandwiches on a long walk.

My mum used to make peanut butter cookies. I don't have the recipe but will look online for something similar.

Crunchy peanut butter and extra mature cheddar cheese sandwich.

Love it!!!

Honey

RaininginDarling · 11/10/2022 08:45

Porridge. A dollop of peanut butter mixed in with maple syrup and a sprinkle of salt.

Lots of ideas to try here, thanks. I had thought about maybe having it on weetabix too.

I’ve just had it on a slice of malt loaf, it was nice.

Sandwich made with cheese and Peanut butter, no actual butter as the peanut butter melts. I use a Crimpet to seal the edges and then toast.

it’s delicious.

BearSoFair · 31/10/2022 10:25

Apple
Banana (also in banana cupcakes)
Celery
Stirred into porridge (add extra milk though or it's like glue in your mouth!)

DD used to have it on cream crackers...not quite convinced by that one!

Mosik · 31/10/2022 10:29

I never eat it cold but I use it in a sauce which is a family favourite. Basically a slow cooker pork casserole but the sauce has peanut butter, soy sauce, chilli and lemon juice added.

Hai2012 · 31/10/2022 10:48

Vanilla ice cream

blobby10 · 31/10/2022 14:38

Another vote for celery - I fill the hollow bit in the celery with PB! yummy,. Also carrot sticks dipped in the PB jar (I live on my own before anyone accuses me of double dipping ill hygiene!), rice cakes with PB and jam (has to be strawberry though) and as you've found, PB on toast!

Pandorapitstop · 08/12/2022 20:53

Any nut butter is nice stuffed into sliced open large dates.

BCBird · 08/12/2022 21:05

I have only discovered it recently too. Whole earth brand organic crunchy is absolutely delicious. I have on toast with a scraping of jam and chopped bansna- delicious. U could make chicken satay too. See taming twins website for recipe- don't know how to attach a link-sorry.

RocketIceLollie · 08/12/2022 22:07

I'm guessing a lot of these random peanut butter concoctions were born out of pregnancy cravings 😂 I do love a bit of crunchy peanut butter but only ever had it on bread. I'm obviously unadventurous!

UsedToBeAtAmber · 08/12/2022 22:29

I'm so jealous of you all. Ds2 is allergic to peanuts, nuts, coconut, sesame so we don't have them in the house. I love peanut butter and crave it. We got used to having it again when he was at university but he's back here now so they're all banned again!

GandalfsBigToe · 08/12/2022 22:43

Sandwich filling: Crunchy peanut butter, cottage cheese, finely chopped celery. Or crunchy peanut butter mixed with soy sauce, garlic and chilli, heated up and poured over stir fried broccoli. Hate it with sweet things like jam though.

Dontsayyouloveme · 08/12/2022 22:47

Cinnamon and raisin bagels, toasted!

Bit more of a savoury option...

Peanut butter and cottage cheese - ideally in a sandwich made of hot toast. The cold creaminess of the cottage cheese goes amazingly with the peanut butter.

Madison99Elle · 09/12/2022 09:03

With cucumber either in a sandwich or spooned on top of cut up cucumber.

Scooped up with my finger out of the jar. Any supermarket own brand crunchy. Smooth is wrong.

Preach

I am definitely doing that this Christmas.

Milkshake. Almond milk vanilla ice cream and two tablespoons of PB - heavenly

Pandorapitstop · 09/12/2022 16:38

Splodger, I first tried the stuffed date thing at a yoga day retreat: it was with almond butter, a sweet treat after our healthy lunch.
Pretty high in calories, but nutritionally sound, and you wouldn’t want more than a couple for a sweet hit.

MrsHGWells · 09/12/2022 16:45

peanut Butter is heavenly.. do try PICs peanut butter (has a star in the lid) -

(Also make cashew and almond butter) only stocked at Tesco… a friend introduced me.. devine better than other high end brands

on sliced apple or pear
celery
dates
Puffed rice crackers
Makes a fab satay for chicken skewers
Add to truffles / museli bars or snack bars
eaten by spoonful for a protein hit
