Having just discovered that I love peanut butter, I mostly have it on toast. What else goes well with it?

Dried dates dipped in peanut butter is my current naughty snack.

Bimblybomeyelash · 10/10/2022 22:41

Lovely in a spicy vegetable stew. www.nigella.com/recipes/guests/rachel-amas-african-peanut-stew

In a sandwich with salad cream- trust me

I've actually got salad cream, peanut butter and bread in tonight and I've had wine. My bread is a bit nice, warburtons seeded batch. Do you think it will work or do I need Mother's Pride?

Another vote for swirled in porridge.
Or make a smoothie - banana, milk or ice cream and PB.

PB on hot buttered crumpets or bagels are the best.

YourWinter · 10/10/2022 22:45

I put a good dollop in a smoothie to whizz up with banana, yogurt, milk and oats.

RhubarbFairy · 10/10/2022 22:45

Peanut butter on rice cakes with sliced banana is the nuts. But also on hot toast. Mmmmmmm.....

BranstonPickleandPeanutButter · 10/10/2022 22:46

As per my name. Fresh white bread, smooth peanut butter and Branston pickle. You're welcome.

Newestname002 · 10/10/2022 22:49

Black cherry jam

NannyR · 10/10/2022 22:51

With noodles - I make a sauce with crunchy peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil, cook some noodles and stirfry whatever bits of veg I have in the fridge (last night it was red pepper, spring onions and mushrooms) and mix together with the sauce.

Peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
With dates.
A spoon full of peanut butter and a spoonful of jam on porridge.
With celery.
With apple slices.
On toast with Nutella.
A dollop whipped into butter cream for a cake topping.
Melt some in a saucepan to pour over ice cream.

Every year for Christmas I make soft peanut brittle. If you are confident in the kitchen, this makes awesome gifts, and is extremely addictive. People ask me all year long to make “pea-not brittle”. I am not kidding. Anyone who loves peanut butter will love this and it’s texture. Do you have Butterfinger bars in the UK? It’s kind of like that, crispy and somewhat flakey. But, it’s not for beginners at candy making.. www.keyingredient.com/recipes/851315054/famous-soft-peanut-brittle-a-clone-from-the-davenport-hotel/

Speaking from extensive user testing I’m happy to report you want:

  • brown bread, toasted
  • peanut butter, be generous
  • sliced banana (optional but v nice)
  • honey or maple syrup
  • ideally served with tea/coffee

You’re welcome.

My breakfast this morning!

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2022 23:16

Stir a dollop into a curry!

Perhapser · 10/10/2022 23:17

Love pb & banana on toast (with butter too if feeling v decadent). THE perfect toast for it is Fazer Finntoast.

Hairymaery · 10/10/2022 23:18

Another vote here for satay noodles, also add to chocolate cornflake cakes (made with dark chocolate mmm)
