Having just discovered that I love peanut butter, I mostly have it on toast. What else goes well with it?

Avocado and peanut butter on toast is 👌

NotaMary · 10/10/2022 23:21

Lightly toasted bagel, spread with peanut butter and sliced banana on top.
My favourite lunch.

APlanetFarFarAway · 10/10/2022 23:22

Ryvita
Oatcakes
Toast
Porridge
Bake in flapjacks

N0va · 10/10/2022 23:25

Blended with ice cream and a bit of milk to make milkshake! Also dip strawberries into it!

Verytirednow · 10/10/2022 23:28

Peanut butter and cheese crackers are absolutely amazing!

SiobhanSharpe · 10/10/2022 23:37

An Elvis -- peanut butter, crispy bacon and banana sandwich, fried. (Or toasted, for marginally fewer calories)
Or dipped in beaten egg before frying for a French toast variation. Drizzle of maple syrup over it to serve.

Soy sauce! A lot of Thai/southeast Asian recipes use this combo but you can also DIY by spreading the peanut butter on toast and then sprinkling soy sauce on right out of the bottle. Or on a really well-toasted sesame bagel. If you like hot food, try adding soy sauce PLUS a hot sauce like tabasco or sriracha, or sliced peppers like jalapeños. Or stir this combo into udon or cheapo ramen noodles (pot noodle, but without the flavour packet) for a quick fix.

Straight out of the jar as a dip with pretzels. If you like things sweet, choc-covered pretzels dipped in PB are good.

Stir a spoonful of PB into vanilla ice cream. Optional: add some dry hot chocolate mix.

Add a spoonful of PB to chili (Texas chili is traditionally made with peanuts - PB is the lazy person's natural way forward!)

On porridge with sliced banana and a handful of seeds.

Banana2079 · 10/10/2022 23:43

i stir into porridge With grated apple and lots of sprinkled cinnamon with honey too
Very good at keeping your full until lunch

In the Caribbean they have peanut porridge not the same as the above but it’s very delicious

Hippopotomum · 10/10/2022 23:43

Apple slices, but it has to be Granny Smith!

LazyLikeSundayMorning · 10/10/2022 23:45

Bread. Bananas sliced. Don't eat it with or put it in anything else.

SiobhanSharpe · 10/10/2022 23:52

When teenage DS broke his jaw playing rugby and had to have it wired shut I used to make him up smoothies of peanut butter, melted Mars Bar, milk and Hagen-Daaz vanilla ice cream to drink through a straw.
He had lost about 7 lbs in the first week after the accident and op to repair the break but after we started on the smoothies he'd put it all back on by the time the wires were removed about another 10 days later.

dotdotdotdash · 10/10/2022 23:53

on toast with sliced strawberries or kiwi

On a stick of celery with a few raisins, aka ‘ants on a log’

dotdotdotdash · 10/10/2022 23:54

Poor love @SiobhanSharpe I hope he’s made a full recovery

SiobhanSharpe · 10/10/2022 23:57

Amortentia · 11/10/2022 00:12

With a spoon. Or, dolloped on top of nice, creamy porridge made with whole milk and sliced up bananas.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 11/10/2022 00:14

DH likes it with ice cream and nutella

mondaytosunday · 11/10/2022 00:36

Bananas! Go full Elvis and slap peanut butter and banana between white bread and fry in butter...

Hawkins001 · 11/10/2022 00:38

Sausages

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/10/2022 00:39

Marmite
cream cheese
bananas

have you tried it with seedy, brown toast and melted butter. Heaven on earth.

Huntswomanonthemove · 11/10/2022 00:40

More peanut butter. I can eat it straight from the jar from a dessert spoon. 😳

AliasGrape · 11/10/2022 00:43

Stirred into porridge - usually with grated apple and sometimes raisins
Stuffed into dates - these are really good frozen, taste a bit like a Mars ice cream (to me anyway!)
On oatcakes, with honey if I’m feeling the need for something sweet

I also make peanut butter oat ‘cookies’ for a low sugar option, do it for my toddler but I quite like them too.

Today I had it on a toasted tea cake as we had no actual butter until the shopping delivery arrived.
