I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

Possibly because people put on weight over the years, or have arthritis, or puffy fingers due to pregnancy/hormones, etc. And rings cost a small fortune to be resized. I was quoted £80 for one of mine to be made two sized larger, just a very thin 9ct gold one.

I think lots of people would rather wear their precious engagement/wedding rings than not, even if they're a little tight!

Its not my original diamond engagement ring as was having it resized & jewellers lost it
but the wedding ring was handmade 18k gold

This was a gift from my sister in law when I got married, gold and diamonds, comes with a matching bracelet

Mine are simple I wanted just a solitaire diamond so he picked well - platinum ring with a 1 carat diamond in a Tiffany setting which means a wedding band can sit flush against it -plain platinum wedding band with 2 little diamonds

I posted earlier on this thread but this is the other combo I like to wear, same wedding band and engagement ring but then the square diamonds which were my gift from DH on the birth of our first son and then a ring I had made from my mother's two engagement rings, diamonds and sapphires put into white gold. The jeweller also added a diamond earring down the side of the band as I lost the other

Loved Gretna, we had 6 people incl our 2 kids. The rings kept with the simplicity of our wedding. I love the absolutely stunning rocks and rings on this thread-some are incredible. They're all precious.
But I'm glad for my simple plain white band, mostly cos I think I'd have accidentally knuckle-dusted someone by accident!

How do you bend your fingers?

@quitelikelyto oh it's this amazing invention, I think it's a reasonably common place practice, you use this thing called a knuckle, most people have one on each finger:

"a part of a finger at a joint where the bone is near the surface, especially where the finger joins the hand."

I find mine work a treat. ;-)

@lovelyjoe i don’t understand your emoji? Doesn’t it mean embarrassed? If so, why? Don’t you like it? That style has been popular for a few years now so if it was chosen without your knowledge, your husband probably went with the fashionable choice. Have you discussed it with him?

@pocketvenuss i didnt mean it to be hostile at all. Apologies if it came across that way. I was making an assumption on the emoji used and trying to reassure PP based on my assumption (which may be incorrect)

Here's mine. They're a bit boring looking but they were all we could afford. The gold came out a weird colour in the photo.

Mine are probably the most understated in this thread 😅

@plainoldgray yours are some of my favourites here, not boring at all! I love the yellow gold, and not that it matters, but they look more expensive that you’re giving them credit for!

First one is my engagement ring and the second one I recently got for my 30th Birthday. A stone for each of my babies 🥰♥️.
