I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

Thank you especially to the poster who recommended steradent. Just used it and I can't remember my rings ever being so sparkly since they were collected from the jewellers originally. The sapphire in particular!

ispyduck · 09/10/2022 17:34

My engagement ring has been passed down from my Great Grandma so it was made in the 1920s. Not everyone's style but I love it. They are meant to be cloudy diamonds but could do with a clean 😂

Mine are all titanium. Engagement is heart shaped pink sapphire, tension set and my eternity ring is set with diamonds.

@justasking111 thank you, I think you're right.

A not very good picture of mine. My wedding ring had a pattern, which is now worn away.

Gorgeous thread. I’ve been inspired to clean mine too.

Interesting my son and girls are mad about Titanium jewellery.

Benjispruce4 · 09/10/2022 20:48

Titanium tends to look like dull steel to me. Depends on your skin tone. I have a warm complexion and green eyes so gold every time.

Too many gorgeous rings to comment individually! Me and DP are feeling inspired by the poster who bought a second hand ring and had the stones reset, such a cool idea, we're gonna buy some vintage jewellery and DP is gonna design a ring for me.
"Forget this conversation though" he said.

I've got a few Pandora rings that I wear day to day, but here are my sentimental ones.

  1. Sapphire and teeny diamonds, a present from my late dad for my 30th.
  1. Garnets given to me by my Nana as she doesn't wear rings now as they dig in when she is walking with her frame. During the war, she and her sisters were evacuated to a literal Manor house in Surrey. Full on Downton Abbey situation. They were in a bit of a weird situation- they were super poor East End kids so they weren't treated as "house" children, but also weren't allowed to mix with the village kids, so they were essentially raised by the 2 maids who were sisters. They kept in touch after the war until they died (their own mother was an awful person and they were much closer to the maids, especially my nan who was only 8 at the start of the war). The ring belonged to the older of the 2, Edith.
  1. Aquamarine from my late great aunt. Don't know where she got it, but I'd loved it for many years and she always joked she'd leave it to me in her will. It wasn't in the will, but she left us all a letter with her funeral instructions, bank account details etc and in the letter it said "make sure Paperwhite gets her ring" 😊

Not married yet but this is my engagement ring
Definitely a bit understated compared to some of the whopping stones on this thread 😱💍

This one is my favourite. Delicate and pretty.

SailingandSauvignon · 09/10/2022 22:02

Here’s mine, We have been engaged for a year and I absolutely love it; we are getting married later this year and I’ll have a slim plain gold band with it.

🤣🤣🤣 absolutely. Same for myself

1994girl · 09/10/2022 22:53

I'm still waiting for my engagement ring... :(

pollyglot · 10/10/2022 05:26

This is mine. I don't wear rings. We both love amber - it's so special, being the gift from a living thing, and treasured in the past. It's warm and magnetic. Just like me :) I love to imagine the women in Constantinople receiving amber jewellery that had come on the Amber route from the Baltic, over the Alps, all the way to northern Italy. So special.

I'm loving the pink!!!

Such beautiful rings! Here is my engagement ring, Pearl and diamonds. We bought it second hand and the jeweller thought it might be about 1890-early 1900s. I like to think of the women who wore it before me. The other one my mum gave me; she bought the emeralds and diamonds yrs ago in India and had it made.

I absolutely love pearls. Just beautiful.

FreezyFreezy · 10/10/2022 07:12

I've posted on this thread a couple of times but I love to see people's rings. I also like shiny things! I had to sell all of my costume jewellery and all the bits that I had bought myself over the years. I have kept the ones I have been given though. My mam gave me this (the one with the rubies) just today. It was her eternity ring. She gave my siblings her wedding and engagement rings a few years ago and saved this for me.
