I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

@Kitsmummy I think you have my dream ring, do you have to be careful caring for an opal that size? I had a smaller one but after not wearing it over winter it lost its fire play & turned orange, I was devastated & would love to get another.

I have a few rings (hence my username) this is a 22ct band with an OEC diamond. Lots of beauties on this thread.

For those asking about how to clean…

I pop mine in a mug with a steradent tablet or two, and hot water.

leave for a couple of minutes, then brush gently with an old toothbrush.

like new every time.

This thread has made me wonder if anyone else was moved by the blessing of the rings before God when they got married. DH wanted the big white wedding. I found the blessing of the ring incredibly spiritual and it confirmed the sanctity of marriage and from then a firm faith. I hadn't expected something so profound.

Interesting comment about white gold above. My wedding ring is white and yellow gold. I had to have it cut off after an accident last year. The repair was £200 (the ring was £185 in 1991). I nearly fell off the chair when the jeweller gave me a valuation.

Mine is Tanzanite and Diamond on white gold. I love it but I'm a nurse so can't wear it much, and I've also put on weight and my rings don't really fit right now!

This is mine after a polish from the jewellers. The engagement is a platinum & diamond vintage Art Deco ring.

I used to soak in a warm fairy liquid solution & then clean with a toothbrush but they never came up this sparkly. Will give the steradent tablet a try!

All of you with fingers with arthritis or have got fatter over the years. Please get them adjusted made bigger. My MIL was deeply upset when ED cut her wedding ring off because the size had changed.

You wouldn't be squeezing into the size ten clothes if you'd gone up a few sizes over the years now would you??

I second this, I had my wedding ring cut off last year by a jeweller - it was already on the small side and then a minor allergic reaction caused it to be cutting into my finger. I had all 3 resized, it wasn’t cheap (obviously would have been cheaper if they hadn’t needed to repair the wedding ring too) but I was so pleased to be able to wear them comfortably again. They were all cleaned and the stones checked as part of the service.

This ring was given to me by my mum who doesn't wear it any more. It was custom made in the 1970s. If anyone has any opal care tips I'm all ears!

That’s beautiful! A lovely opal. I’ve no advice beyond seeking expert advice and avoiding ultrasonic cleaners, high temperature steam cleans and chemicals in the meantime. Once they go milky you can’t reverse it.

Been married 50 years, never worn a wedding ring

Could hardly believe my eyes when DH proposed. I got a very thin wedding ring because I didn’t want to distract from the massive diamond!

People often think aqua but it’s blue diamonds. Sorry about the shameful nail situation!

Gold , diamonds and thin bands of white gold on the eternity ring.

My engagement ring is one from DHs family. The only original stone is the small duller diamond in the middle. The jeweller we took it to reckoned there would have been pearls where the diamonds that we had put in were, then the holes around the edge to let the light catch the pearls. But unfortunately pearls aren't suitable for an everyday ring so we went with diamonds.

It's over 100 years old so uses a strange carat of gold they don't use anymore (I think it's 14 or 16) but it was brought home from South America where he worked for one of the mining companies (probably shouldn't admit that in these days of woke). So the colour is very warm and I wasn't sure how we would match the wedding band but miraculously we walked into a shop kind of as a spur of the moment thing and this was off the shelf and fitted it perfectly.

I love my engagement ring as its so different!

Engagement ring is a platinum princess Elizabeth cut stone and wedding ring is also
plat Elizabeth set stones

Both rings designed in Turkey as I’m not a huge jewellery fan and wanted dainty designs.

Had then professionally cleaned last month.

Nails getting done tomorrow 😂

And we have a winner! (To my eyes of course)
