Why does Catherine always have a plaster on? Is she more accident prone than the rest of us!

Oh FFS - leave the woman alone.

What do plasters have to do with bulimia?

particularly plasters on your thumb!

people can get small abrasions & cuts on the backs of their fingers (from their teeth) if they induce vomiting. I can't imagine many people are sticking their thumb down their throat though.

Has she got cats?

Shes got a bouncy spaniel. I've heard their claws can be a bit sharp at times.

exactly - it's completely moronic.

Russell's sign is cuts on the knuckles caused by teeth (i.e. putting your hand to the back of your throat to self induce vomiting). But if it was that it's going to be knuckles on the back of your hand surely not thumb.
DH bites his thumb knuckle and it gets in a right state, I think it's that.

She's a huge Nelly fan but not allowed to wear it on her face cos royal

Hahahaha

I have dermatitis and have plasters on the fingers and thumbs on my right hand for days at a time every so often. There's no way to cure it.

AndSoFinally · 05/10/2022 20:46

You don't get Russell's sign on your thumb, it's on the backs of your hands just behind your knuckles

garlicandsapphires · 05/10/2022 20:46

It’s so weird isn’t it!! No idea!

Would be incredibly sad if that’s the case. Really hope she’s not struggling with an ED

Crunchymum · 05/10/2022 20:49

Yep lifelong sufferer of contact dermatitis on my hands. I have periods of remission and times it's so bad I needs plasters.

JenniferBarkley · 05/10/2022 20:51

The knuckles on my thumbs often crack in winter, once they go it's very hard to get them to heal because handwashing reopens them. I don't bother with plasters, but maybe I would in her shoes.

These people are public property so we can speculate and gossip about them as much as we want to. Thank you.

The plaster is to remind her to pick one of the kids up from school or get milk and bread or something.

JenniferBarkley · 05/10/2022 20:53

(I have to say an ED wouldn't surprise me, but there are plenty of other reasons to wear plasters in varying places on your hands.)

DillDanding · 05/10/2022 20:53

I have often wondered why she so often wears a plaster. Once you notice, you start looking for it.

GlasgowGal82 · 05/10/2022 20:53

She might be a skin picker. I do it when I'm tired or nervous and often wear plasters in the same place to either hide the damage or stop me from doing it. It's a form of a medical disorder known as trichotillomania.

cathycake · 05/10/2022 20:57

I assume its because she shakes a lot of peoples hands. If she has any type of scratch/cut it could mean she could easily get infected or pick up germs that would enter cut

Surely if it were self harm related, she'd wear gloves, as the Queen did.

PoundShopPrincess · 05/10/2022 20:59

I think it's because she was opening a tricky Amazon parcel and her scissors slipped. That's why I'm wearing a plaster today.
Interesting to see so many of the Sussex 'fan' posters on this thread and so quickly too.

It’s dermatilomania. Trich is when you pull your hair

I think it’s this as well, a sign of a bit of stress. It wouldn’t do to have the slightly raggedy skin on her fingers photographed, or have them bleed at all on an engagement. I think it’s non-news.

OldTinHat · 05/10/2022 21:01

That was from today when she visited the maternity unit at the Royal Surrey hospital.
