What age child wrote this?

Hello, my dd started writing a book. What age do you think wrote this?
----
A skinny grey and black shape was sitting on the rough soil. ‘’There. That’s the last one,’’ He said, as he planted the last tree in. “Hey, Lucifer.’’ said a familiar voice. It was Summer. He liked Summer. Her voice was as smooth as a rose in the afternoon sunshine. Summer had ginger fur, vivid green eyes, and a long, stretched out tail. Ah, he missed her. “Whatcha doin’?’’ she pondered. ‘’The groups waiting,’’ Summer drawled out, tilting her head to the side in a sassy way as Lucifer stood up. His tail ached. Why did his tail ache? ‘’Yeah, yeah. Comin,’’ He walked with Summer through a pathway, mostly hidden by the trees. The hard stone strewn across the ground was marble white. They went all the way to the mysterious structure in a clearing of the lush forest.

The building was a hazelnut brown and cerulean blue and the wooden roof was a rusty brown. It was quite homey, flower pots with various small plants taking up the space on the windowsills in front of the light grey tinted windows, blinds drawn, blocking the view of the inside building. Hazelnut wood accompanied by various highlights of blue was the main feature of the structure, a few white poles holding up the roof over the doors and windows on the top row of the vertical glass surfaces peaking into the building, allowing light to flood through.

Both Lucifer and Summer noticed a figure, slightly larger than them and with rougher fur, sitting outside of the building.
“Hey, Maggie… and who’s that?" Lucifer questioned, giving a fleeting glance at the waiting cats. “Oh, just a visitor,” She looked strangely guilty, but for what reason? Maggie was honourable, she had her fair share of knowledge. Maybe he could ask her. “Maggie, tell me now. Who is it?’
“Um, ok. I know this sounds weird, but, um…’’ She stammered.

“That's my father.’’
“Your FATHER?!’’ Lucifer reared back. ‘’Why and how is he here? Shouldn't he be in the kingdom of Khid?’’

Interested to know what others think of this writing, thanks!

Year 5/6 would be my guess, though I have seen some year 4 children write like that too.

dizzydizzydizzy · 03/10/2022 15:56

15?

SweetyGreen · 03/10/2022 15:56

Year 5

DappledThings · 03/10/2022 15:56

About 11?

Wowzers12 · 03/10/2022 15:56

My son is still a baby but from memory I think I could have written like this around year 6. I was really into writing/language/poetry etc

TeenDivided · 03/10/2022 15:56

Good teenage.
Well spelled and punctuated, good use of language and dialogue.
You'll get people saying their 6yo could do it.

ChilliBandit · 03/10/2022 15:56

I hate these threads. You have a child genius/you should get your child some help. Pick whichever you were hoping for.

arethereanyleftatall · 03/10/2022 15:56

I think could be any age at all between about 7 and 120!

AllAboutMargot · 03/10/2022 15:56

11

FelicityBeedle · 03/10/2022 15:57

9/10/11, all the imagery and vocab feels very primary school creative writing

rainbowandglitter · 03/10/2022 15:57

I'd say age 10.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/10/2022 15:58

Hmm i'm clueless

Midnights · 03/10/2022 15:58

10 ish?

EmmaC78 · 03/10/2022 15:59

I think about 10 or 11.

b8tes7sw · 03/10/2022 15:59

Whatever age they are reading Warrior Cats at...

Leafblow · 03/10/2022 16:02

8 to 10 ish if generally bright and able.
But I have seen similar from lower ability 13-14

Nightynightnight · 03/10/2022 16:03

Literally could be any age between 6 and 16. The shorter sentences and repetition of certain phrases make me think a younger writer.

IDidntWearASmileToday · 03/10/2022 16:03

I guess between 9 and 12

Octomore · 03/10/2022 16:04

Whatever age they are, as feedback I'd say that ginger cats are male, so Summer (female) should probably have different colour fur.

chesirecat99 · 03/10/2022 16:27

I would say a very bright, imaginative, well-read year 4-6 child. It's very good but I think throwing in all those superfluous long words is the hallmark of a clever, younger child.

Bien22 · 03/10/2022 16:28

Y5

purplecorkheart · 03/10/2022 16:32

7-8 maybe. The writing style strikes me as someone who is in a younger age bracket but who is good at English.

buggeringbuggery · 03/10/2022 16:33

@Octomore not so! We had a ginger female cat, definitely female as she had kittens!
