Says the Chair of the Conservative party, Jake Berry. That this is the Tory approach.

What a tool.

All these “I worked hard to earn my high salary, those on lesser wages should give it a try” types don’t seem to realise just how much their high wage job is propped up by the hard work of people on much lower wages.

Just like a lot of them have a wife at home doing all the childcare and domestic work.

I’m amazed Berry has a job at all, never mind a well-paid one, being as fucking thick as he obviously is.

Nah you can go to the workhouse or the glue factory. Or send to Rwanada probably.

0r the cotton mills down the mines which is what they want.

Essentially, yes! Thus reducing the benefits and pensions bills. The essence of Conservatism as practised by this shower (tho not by all ‘old style’ Conservatives) is that those who are ‘economically inactive’ are worthless and therefore a drain on everyone else.

Yes we’re to die they’ll love this less poor people to see as they do their “I’m better than you crap”

SherwoodForest · 02/10/2022 14:36

Does he expect pensioners and disabled people to go to work?

Yes and die doing it.

Mamansparkles · 02/10/2022 15:54

@Piggywaspushed probably true. And a school can't run just on boarding staff. Looks like Eton and Harrow will have to close too.
And Waitrose.

Honestly the short-sightedness of some posters is really quite worrying.

'Get a better paid job'? Ok, great - will those lower paid roles cease to exist? No? so somebody will be doing them, and unable to afford their bills.

Jake Berry could've said wages need to be increased in line with inflation, but he chose not to. He could've expressed solidarity with the workers strikes, but no - his solution was, get a better paid job or freeze!

So Mr Postie leaves his job to be a hedge-fund manager (🙄) but the post still needs delivering, so what about the replacements bills?

Do you see how 'get a better paid job' might not be the fix-all solution? 🙄

Well, now that bankers can earn uncapped bonuses I don't know what's stopping all these people from going into banking. They have the means to OWN the energy companies now.

GreenLunchBox · 02/10/2022 16:07

I'm shocked that people are shocked. Tories gonna Tory

The banks were already getting around the caps by raising peoples base salaries and giving them ‘allowances’ that changed each year.. so they were pointless

At the Tory conference this afternoon:

Tory chairman Jake Berry says he wants "a rising Spring tide across our United Kingdom of growth that floods through every door"

Definitely on glue.

My director makes it known he supports Labour, yet in a recent question about how the company is looking to retain staff as we've been hemorrhaging staff, the response was well if you want more money go get another job

I think its just arseholes who say things like that regardless of their political leaning

I would so love to see all his staff suddenly leaving all at once.

How many teaching teachers actually have time to tutor as well? I don't even have time to help my own kids with hw.

Many teachers exam mark in the summer, but you lose a good chunk of the summer evenings and weekends. And if you're slow or keep getting stopped, it's probably around nmw.
