I'll go first, we never have margarine, I just hate it, even though DH thinks it's the best! (sorry dh)

We don't have a TV - everyone thinks we're weird but we just watch Netflix on laptop. I always think TVs are an eyesore. For the same reason we don't have a microwave or a toaster.

Vegay · 01/10/2022 23:51

Meat

MyHusbandTheIdiot · 01/10/2022 23:51

A toilet brush

ALongHardWinter · 01/10/2022 23:52

Brown sauce. Can't stand the stuff.

itsthesoundofthepolice · 01/10/2022 23:52

Bread, milk, slippers... there's probably loads more

Squash! Got caught out when a friend called in, I only have squash in when the DGS are here!

SardineStitches · 01/10/2022 23:54

Tea and coffee.. Hate both so I don't buy it.

Changingmynameyetagain · 01/10/2022 23:55

We don’t have a microwave, my mother finds this very odd but when we had one it was never used so we got rid of it.

I never use fabric softener or those smelly beads you put in the washer. DD is allergic to scented products so I don’t use them.

We don’t have any curtains in any of our windows, all the windows just have blinds instead.

Glowinglights · 01/10/2022 23:56

Apart from the ashtray, I have everything mentioned in this thread 😂

I don’t have lipstick - can’t stand the stuff on my lips

AffIt · 01/10/2022 23:59

Margarine as a household staple?

I'm sorry, did I fall asleep and accidentally wake up in 1952?

Supersimkin2 · 01/10/2022 23:59

Iron

whowhatwhen · 02/10/2022 00:02

We don't have a microwave, didn't have space for one in our first flat straight out of uni and haven't felt like we needed once since. I don't know what I'd do with it.

girlofsandwich · 02/10/2022 00:03

Oh nooo I love my microwave I'm in the mumsnet minority.

Many of the aforementioned, but to add a new one - wine glasses.

jjeoreo · 02/10/2022 00:03

This is great .

OK, margarine here too.

A TV - I also think they are an eyesore.

A hairdryer. Always let my hair air dry

Kitchen roll, I love it but feel guilty.

I find it baffling that people don't have tea, coffee or mugs! Never been in a house without those. Just goes to show we are all different.

RewildingAmbridge · 02/10/2022 00:05

Tablet/iPad
Non work laptops
A giant TV
Sugar for tea/coffee. There is currently golden caster sugar in the sugar bowl because we had a visitor who took sugar in hot drinks so I had to raid my baking supplies. He said it was nice!

jjeoreo · 02/10/2022 00:05

I was sure I'd never use a microwave but use mine constantly...I'd probably be the same with a TV.

OK to add, any smart speaker stuff, bread bin (we need one), tablets.

Musicalmaestro · 02/10/2022 00:11

From what I see on Mumsnet recently, an Air Fryer!

Hopscotch88 · 02/10/2022 00:12

Vinegar, my dad was helping with some diy so we picked up fish and chips for tea. He was outraged at the lack of vinegar already on them or in our cupboards.
me nor DH like it so we just don’t have it.

GerronBuzanDoThaWomwok · 02/10/2022 00:17

Alexa, Kindle, flavoured water, zoflora

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 02/10/2022 00:18

Also kitchen roll. Like pp I love it but also feel guilty! Also we don't have a bread bin. No clothes pegs, fabric softener.
