I'll go first, we never have margarine, I just hate it, even though DH thinks it's the best! (sorry dh)

Squash or juice of any kind.

margarine (though I was under the impression that most people didn’t use it)

Smileeriley · 02/10/2022 08:19

Money 😭

savehannah · 02/10/2022 08:20

Cling film and plastic food bags (use Tupperware), disposable period products (use washable period pants and mooncup), disposable nappies (back in the day when we had babies), kitchen roll (just use a cloth).

narkyspirit · 02/10/2022 08:24

Tinned sardines 🤣 we have everything in our house but sardines are not allowed in.

Wheredoestheblackfluffcomefrom · 02/10/2022 08:35

Bread - never buy it, don’t eat it.

People I know don’t have a microwave.

Margarine as a household staple?

I'm sorry, did I fall asleep and accidentally wake up in 1952?

I meant like butter substitutes, Clover, Utterly Butterly etc.

Branston pickle 🤢
custard 🤢🤢
more than one TV
Cats
i would say margarine 🤢 but there always seems to be a tub in the fridge - who buys it???

Badbaddogagain · 02/10/2022 08:40

A doorbell. That’s what the dog is for

ThreeRingCircus · 02/10/2022 08:41

Pets. I've got enough on my plate without the added hassle of dealing with animals.

Fabric softener. Stopped using it a couple of years ago and have never missed it.

A washing up bowl in the sink. I genuinely don't see the point of them, we just put the plug in and fill the kitchen sink with soapy water.

Instant coffee. DH is a coffee snob so grinds beans and has an espresso maker. My parents only like instant coffee so we have to buy a jar when they come to visit.

Coffeepot72 · 02/10/2022 08:43

GardenShack · 02/10/2022 08:54

Thought of a couple more:
Hairdryer
make up (therefore no cotton wool)
Conditioner

Fizzy drinks

georgarina · 02/10/2022 09:08

Don't know anyone younger than my grandparents who has margarine!

We don't have
-sugar, flour, or other baking ingredients
-milk (DD is allergic and I prefer almond milk anyway)

Phos · 02/10/2022 09:19

I would have said cucumber before DD was weaned because DH and I can't stand it but she LOVES it.

Microwave - we have one but it broke and we've not missed it enough to repair or replace (its a built it one which is why we've not just got rid)
