Mine is Shell,

Electric 35p pKwh & standing charge 38.9p
Gas 10p pKwh & standing charge 28.5p

I'm curious to see how this compares

@StrawberryPot I think that those on a fixed rate higher than the price guarantee will have their price reduced by up to 17p for electricity and up to 4.2p for gas which will take them closer to the price cap or down to the price cap (not below it though)

My electricity unit rate is coming down to the cap rate but the other three rates are all below the cap already. Means I am still paying slightly less than I would be under the cap, but then I've been paying more since March.

HappyPeach · 01/10/2022 12:41

It's so hard to make comparisons here with so many different standing charges.

EDF
Day: 44.72
Night: 16.45
Standing charge: 47.66

I'm fixed until 2024 - I have storage heaters. I think my day rate has gone down by about 7p.

I'm with eon next.
Apparently my password is wrong(it isn't) and I can't set a new one up because they now don't recognise my email address.
Has eon totally crashed??

I was given a new reduced monthly debit figure a week or so ago. This was because of the £400 government subsidy.

I am on a fixed rate till June 2023, which is slightly higher than the new price cap of today.

Other eon next customers are you able to access to your account?

If so have eon reduced your rate in line with new price cap?

If not is it because they're lagging behind do you think?

Thanks

SnowyMouse · 01/10/2022 13:06

Electricity 28.455p per kWh
Standing charge 43.395p per day
Gas 7.480p per kWh
Standing charge 27.220p per day

thesunwillout · 01/10/2022 13:10

Ok for some reason eon next is back up.
I've calmed down and they've posted this to make us all happy.

I'm with Scottish Power, I don't know my rate yet!

But they sent an email saying my electricity will go up by £2 a week.

Which I felt was manageable and I calmed down a little bit.

But I won't believe it until I see it! <stares at smart meter obsessively>

Shell - we're on the basic capped tariff.

Electricity - 34.22p/kWh + 44.4p sc
Gas - 10.45p/kWh + 28.5p sc

On our usage it works out about £4/day but that will obviously increase over the winter.

Crunchymum · 01/10/2022 17:28

Shell

Your electricity rates are changing from 29.632p to 35.797p per kWh and your standing charge per day is changing from 32.14p to 33.15p.
Your gas rates are changing from 7.517p to 10.509p per kWh and your standing charge per day is changing from 27.22p to 28.48p

Seems like "minimal" change to standing charges.

Crunchymum · 01/10/2022 17:39

Does anyone know when I need to change my monthly DD?

DD due to come out on 6th and I'm not sure whether I need to change to higher amount this month or next? Given prices only went up today, I don't want to pay "October" prices if I'm paying in arrears.

dementedpixie · 01/10/2022 17:46

@Crunchymum are you in credit or debit? Remember you will be getting £66 per month for the next 6 months towards your bill so chances are you don't need to adjust your direct debit.

Octopus are actually reducing my existing payment by £66 for the next 6 months so my payment is reducing not increasing (although I can adjust it to a different amount online if I want)

Babyroobs · 01/10/2022 18:19

Electric; standing charge 45.76 and 33.017 per Kw
Gas : standing charge 28.484 and 10.23 per KWh

Crunchymum · 01/10/2022 18:40

I'm in credit by not by much.

I got an email on 21st September telling me what my annual increase is. It works out as £190 a month (up from current rate of £150 a month)

I got an email a few days later telling me I'll get the £66 a month reduction but I assume that needs to be deducted from higher DD.

So if I leave DD at £150 and get the £66 deducted from that I'm not actually paying enough? If I up the DD to £190 and get the £66 I'm still paying slightly less than the £150 I'm currently paying but I'm also paying closer to what I use.

I give monthly readings and past two annual statements have been pretty accurate so I essentially agree with the amounts quoted. I just don't want to pay them £190 on 6th October when for 25 days out of 30 it was the lower rate?

Utilita

Gas:

29 pence for first two KWH
10 pence after

Electric
58p for first two KWH

Prepaid cheapest tariff.

Mine is the same as yours, also Utilita. No standing charge

Hi there, I didn't know there was a new app?!

I'm able to log into my old (orangey colour one) now.

Is the new app better?

Thanks

SRV with Direct Debit on EonNext - this looks far too high.

Updated now to what I had expected them to be. Still double last winter but we knew that would be the case.

Your SC is a lot cheaper 10p a day with EonNext directly. How bizzare I’ll be contacting Sainsburys

I don't know if the regional thing changes that, I am in Sufolk if that helps

Nowheretoogo · 04/10/2022 07:45

55p standing charge electric
35p per kWh electric

33p standing charge gas
11p per kWh gas
eon next

I am dreading the end of our fixed rate deal in Feb. It's going to be a right shock! Getting all my hot bubble baths in now!

Currently with Eon and paying 17.02pkwh and 16.38p standing charge for Electric and 3.14pkwh and 16.38p standing charge for gas.

Last monthly gas bill was about £4 as we haven't had heating on, cooking in the ninja and shower is electric.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 04/10/2022 07:56

Eon Next

Electric
38.15 unit cost
48.52 standing charge

I have a smart meter and pay by bank transfer once a month. Apparently it would be 1p a unit cheaper if I pay by direct debit. My monthly spend is around £100 but they wanted £298 a month on direct debit.
