My eye have been playing me up all day .
But I have been clearing and bagging alot of stuff for charity.

They are so dry , itchy and grainy.

I have not had conjunctivitis for years ( don't wear contact lenses now)

Anything I can do to help it tonight ?
I have to take my mum to a hospital appointment tomorrow.

(Yes it has taken me till now to join the dots !)

Thanks .

Wipe them over with cooled boiled water on a piece of soft cotton wool. One piece per eye.

There’s an ointment you can get otc from the pharmacy called golden eye. I used to get a lot of styes and if I caught it early enough, this would stop it in its tracks.

Speak to a pharmacist! They could advise if just moisturising drops are needed, or whether you have an actual infection. Usually with conjunctivitis, wake with sticky, glue like eye lids, gritty feeling and sometimes visible pus (even if small) on the inner lids. Either way, get it checked and treated.

If it is conjunctivitis, the drops are 100% better than than the ointment which is greasy and goes everywhere! IMO

Salt eye bath!

A doctor told me to use chamomile tea and it works! I just dropped it in and wiped it over every half an hour for the first bit and then a few days of morning, noon, night and bedtime (dd) and it stopped them pouring with muck really quickly.

The first few times dropping it in she screamed blue murder because her eyes were so swollen and scratchy but then she settled down.

I just made a fresh cup each morning and used it all day.
