End of the summer holiday. OP if it’s an NHS dentist and you don’t attend they can kick you off their books so get ringing tomorrow.

Chasingsquirrels · 29/09/2022 20:18

One week ago - I had a wisdom tooth removed.

PorkPieAndAPickledOnion · 29/09/2022 20:22

Mine should have been the day lockdown started in 2020, but the dental practice cancelled it. I have been trying to get an NHS checkup, and my appointment is finally edging closer - it’s in December. Luckily I have very well behaved teeth and no fillings at over 50, so it’s not caused me any issues so far, but I do wish I’d been able to see someone sooner, if only for reassurance that all is well. Normally go once a year.

whoruntheworldgirls · 29/09/2022 20:22

About a year ago. Back next week Sad hate the dentist

snowbellsxox · 29/09/2022 20:26

I have one every 6 months
Been today for dental consultation for all wisdom teeth removing
I've had a lot of work done :( so can't afford to skip appts

RobertaTheRobot · 29/09/2022 20:30

3 or 4 years ago. Can't get registered with an NHS dentist and can't afford private as I need alot of work doing now. I have lovely looking straight white teeth but having babies/the pregnancies have wrecked them. now I need 2 wisdom teeth removed due to decay and at least one filling I'm sure of it, so I have to try and appreciate how my teeth look now as they won't be that nice in the next few years. Definitely nice teeth will be a class divide soon, only people who can afford private dental care will have nice healthy teeth. My son is 5 and has only seen a dentist once as a baby and I haven't been able to get him registered since. No NHS dentists in our whole county, I've been trying to get registered/find one for 3 years and can't even get on waiting lists as they're so long.

ScottishLavender · 29/09/2022 20:36

September 2021 I think. We never got around to booking an April checkup 🫣

notacooldad · 29/09/2022 20:45

Beginning of the year. I've just a text reminder last week to book my next. I haven't done it yet.

Comedycook · 29/09/2022 20:46

11 years ago. I'm not scared though. Just feel guilty when I do stuff for myself.

HairyMothballs · 29/09/2022 20:47

July this year. I hadn't been for 6 years before that, so I was very happy to have not needed anything other than a clean and polish

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 29/09/2022 20:49

Last Friday

Summertimesunshineandfizz · 29/09/2022 20:49

2 weeks ago to get a replacement filling when one came out. Last checkup was June, next one December. I’m very anxious at the dentist so keep up with checkups to avoid anything major developing.

lljkk · 29/09/2022 20:51

1.5 - 2 years ago. Private so they will always take me back.

PlayItAsItLays · 29/09/2022 20:51

2 weeks ago. I have 2 dental appointments, 4 hygienist appointments and 1 periodontal appointment every year. I have aggressive gum disease and if it was up to the NHS (I was with an NHS dentist for 10 years and he did not spot the problem) I would be wearing false teeth by now. It costs me a small fortune.

AnyFucker · 29/09/2022 20:54

My last check up I was told I could wait 2 years then Covid hit at that point

Still not booked in. I imagine they have a backlog and my teeth are fine so will leave it a bit longer

SatinHeart · 29/09/2022 20:54

I went today but last time was about 18 months ago. I have a rare NHS dentist so very keen not to get bumped off their list for not going!

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 29/09/2022 20:56

4 months ago. Every six months apart from lockdown. Paying monthly fir Denplan ensures that I go.

bewarethetides · 29/09/2022 21:01

This summer.

Every 6 months or so we're in there; can't afford to risk our NHS registries ... so many people inadvertently lost their NHS places when they didn't go in after Covid and more than 2 years had passed!

Same as me. I pay £20 month but my dentist Never charges me anything on top of that even if I need a filling.

Cameleongirl · 29/09/2022 21:07

August, I go every six months, except during the pandemic, of course. I have a fear of something nasty developing unless I go regularly.

My Dad (85) has lost a few teeth, although he’s still got most of his. He says it’s horrible so I’m hoping to stave it off!

StarWitness · 29/09/2022 21:09

Usually every 6 months but it’s been 11 months as I’ve been flat out with work. Got an appointment next week, though!

FarmCat31 · 29/09/2022 21:09

July for a check up and hygienist- I’m aware that I’m lucky to still have an NHS dentist in this area.
