Back in 2003, there was a section entitled ‘introductions’ and people would post identifying photos of themselves and their dc. And a post about themselves.

How times change!

There was a leopard print type one which seemed to be accepted as the MN scarf, I remember a contestant on The Apprentice seen wearing one and a chorus of Ooh must be a Mumsnetter. I don't know whether or not it was officially sold by MN or just became the badge of MN by osmosis.

used to go to the local meet ups back in the day. getting drunk with custy and co was good fun.

Why can’t we have meet-ups now? How did they get organised - just announced for a certain venue? They sound fun!

It was a bargain scarf from EBay recommended in Style & Beauty. So many MNers bought one, in multiple colours, that it was referred to as the MN Scarf.

I think I still have my MN scarf somewhere.

it was from when indoor scarves were trendy, and it was pretty nice at the time.

So many things that I have bought because of MN. A ruched dress from Hush that made me look like I was 15 months pregnant. Some kind of special flannel which was about as gentle as swarfega. I even attempted the MN haircut and ended up doing the walk of shame to my hairdresser to get a very wonky cut evened out.

I don't eat meat these days but I never did crack the MN chicken either. The most I ever managed was roast dinner, pie and then soup.

I'd completely forgotten about the spoof email signatures! Eight minutes and 34 seconds since my last wee-wee and that kind of thing

I only recently found out that Netmums is no more. I feel a bit sad all those banners aren't out there any more.

Oh, ignore that totally. It's still going strong. I wonder why I thought not?
