Must buys when on holiday in Scotland

We are going to Scotland for a week on Friday, and wondered what things we should buy when there to bring home. We are staying in Kyle across the water from Skye, so interested in things from that area in particular, but also from other areas we should look out for which we might be able to find in shops near us. Many thanks.

Now most Tunnocks you can easily get everywhere now. But when we go up I always look for the tubs of mini Tunnocks caramel wafers, as they seem less prolific. They come in tubs like the M&S tubs of cake crack. They are amazing. You also get tubs of mini snowballs. Joyous.

Mini snowballs you say? How many can you get in your mouth at once?

If there's a local outlet selling Highland Stoneware then their stuff is absolutely beautiful.

Arran Aromatics are very highly perfumed - maybe find a tester before buying in case it's not for you. We stayed in a Scottish hotel that used them and they really stink!

I was going to mention Harry Gow's Dream Rings, as per a PP - or the many fondant based small cakes in the bakeries. Buchanans sweets (in bags) have some great old-fashioned flavours like peppermint creams and Russian Caramels.

Now I'm thinking - Isle of Harris gin is potentially being discontinued, I'm sure my MIL mentioned having to buy some to stock up as it's her sisters favourite!

Do you mean Kyle of Lochalsh OP? Not sure the locals would like to hear it just being called Kyle.

Tattie Scones to take home
Original stornoway black pudding
Butteries, just lather some real butter on the bottom and eat it, amazing.
Tablet as been said before (But I just make my own)
Macaroon bars
And for something really nice for yourself, get a nice tartan scarf.

We aren't staying in the Kyle of Lochalsh and the address of the place we are staying at uses the name Kyle, which is why I just used that. I thought it was an area name, like a county. No offence meant.

Such wonderful ideas, thank you all again! The Red Tractor shed is on our list, if only for fish & chips. We have ordered some Lorne sausage from the local shop along with some thick oatcakes.
We won't be going to Harris but our friends went last year & brought us a bottle of their gin back. It was delicious & I am planning on making the bottle into a lamp base.
I am thinking of getting some tartan as our surname is Scottish, so I'll see if we can get some of that.

I meant the Fisherman's Kitchen. I thought it was called Red Tractor shed for some reason. Must be the red roof.

I don't know what to buy, but take the mountain road to Applecross and visit Plockton.

If you are after Tartan Lochcarron Weavers is not too far from Kyle
