How often do you spend money?

I was looking at my bank account today and realised how often I'm spending. It's a quick trip to the shops here, petrol there, a macdonalds or a trip through the car wash. I'm not particularly profligate but I do seem to use my debit card a LOT. It's maybe not every day but definitely every other day. How often do you have a spending day/ spending free day?

Today:
Wax
Coffee
Children's t-shirts

Yesterday:
Vaccination for DS (not UK)
Art supplies for DD (bought online)

Monday:
Top up food shop for party

Sunday
Shelf from IKEA

Saturday
Coffee
Big food shop

So yeah...I spend every day by the looks of it!

Today I've spent some but only paying a bill online.

Yesterday it was bus fare, coffee and lunch in the office and flowers I ordered online.

Interesting question though!

It's every day if you include direct debits.
Today alone I paid for dog groomer, grocery delivery, magazine subscription, phone and Red Cross monthly donation. Only one of those did I pay in person.
Tomorrow I know it will be petrol, beauty salon and what ever direct debit that goes out tomorrow!
The DDs are scary when you add them up: three phone contracts, TV licence, insurances, magazine subscriptions, Vet plan (four animals all paid separately), broadband and Sky, Disney Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, two charities, service charge on rental flat, Oyster card, council tax, utilities, storage unit, piano lessons. There's more....
It's 'walking around' money that is easy to loose track of. A coffee here, pick up a sandwich there, buy a newspaper...
At least using my card I can see it all.

Pretty much daily.

I had a bit of a panic looking at how many transactions there were on my bank account the last few months. Then I realised that is in large part because I pay for everything on the card now, so I'm spending the same money generally, but every spend shows up individually rather than £50 atm.

Though I do need to reign in my spending a bit as the last two months have been particularly bad.

Some of that has been preparing the house for a miserable winter (rugs for bare wood floors, thermal curtains, some very cheap paintings from eBay for something colourful to look at, cheap winter bedding plants for the front yard and houseplants as I need green things in winter...), then all my car costs are this month and I pay them in one go to save a bit on the cost etc.

On top of that I seem incapable of going into work and not spending about £10 between bus fare and lunch plus extra fruit, milk, bread, etc. At the moment that's only 2 days a week. But... I really do need to make breakfast and lunch rather than buy them.

I still haven't spent a penny since last Friday. That is going to change on Saturday as I've just arranged to go to Liverpool for a day out with my friends! Big day ( and night) out for us isn't going to be cheap.
