Cost of a new kitchen

I'm getting quotes for a new kitchen ( 9ft x 13ft ) and have just received one from Howdens , it does include appliances which I'm sure if I shop round I can get cheaper but really wanted to save the hassle of doing all that myself .
Anyway they've quoted £11,224.00 , just the tap is £200 (I think they saw me coming) The last time I bought a new kitchen was 25 years ago so a bit out of touch re prices .
Has anyone tried Howdens but found another supplier that's cheaper ?

Daft question alert!
When measuring your kitchen ready to put the details in the planner do you measure wall-to-wall or skirting board-to-skirting board? The difference is about 6cm, so not huge, but in a very, very small kitchen could make the difference!

No such thing as a daft question when it comes to kitchens ! Wall to wall so that the units can be secured to the wall .

Thank you, @Vapeyvapevape - off to start measuring!
I think my biggest issue will be finding a fitter - any suggestions on how to find an honest and reliable one? I don't have any local contacts who can give recommendations and when I look on the local facebook page people making suggestions often seem to be the fitter or someone related to them, rather than a customer.

We had a Howdens kitchen fitted earlier in the year and our fitter passed on his discount which averaged out at 40% so might be worth asking. He asked Howdens to send the quote to us rather than him and it clearly showed the discount applied to each line. We were charged £1500 for fitting the lot but it was part of a bigger project so appreciate this was probably discounted.
We had a few niggles with Howdens also quoting the wrong things but I can say 100% we are so happy with the kitchen and am glad we went with them. Their LV flooring is fab too.

@Monkeybutt1 I can't see the fitters discount on the quote.
