Wedding dilemma

We're invited to a wedding (in laws) and there's 2 peopleI I absolutely don't want to see or even them to see me they've done us bad in the past so they're dead to me. It's 300+ guests wedding but apparently we will be sitting at the same table as them I don't know how big the table is or the table plan. How can I avoid them?

With a response like that, I won't be reading this thread any further ... not hard to see why you end up not speaking to people, OP.

Motnight · 20/09/2022 15:23

It's also been posted in Site Stuff.

Sunglasses and a fake moustache

Sun glasses, a fake moustache and stand on your DH’s shoulders inside a giant overcoat

So what did they do to you?

Back story is always required before advice can be given.
Them’s the rulez.

They’ve done them bad apparently

Weirdlynormal · 20/09/2022 15:25

Iamgonnasuceed · 20/09/2022 15:24

I can surely spell stupid!

At least that’ll be correct on your CV then.

UngratefulDead · 20/09/2022 15:25

If it's an outdoor wedding then suggest this. They won't see you so no need to ignore. 10/10 would recommend

Depends what they did to you really.
If they abused you or stole from you etc etc then I think it would not be unreasonable to ask that you not be seated together.

If it's trivial shit then you may just have to keep reminding yourself that it's not the time or place to make it about your issue with them and theirs with you and just be civil.

Avoid alcohol if you're someone who gets cross easily.

I didn't know where to post it. And your comment is useless. Get a life! Stop policing the chat!

On the basis of this post alone - i don’t think anyone would be too disappointed from the wedding party to learn you won’t be attending

Hoppinggreen · 20/09/2022 15:28

whatever makes you think that?

Id put money on it being trivial shit, op flies off the handle if you ask a simple question.

I'm singing this in a country and western voice now.

"Don' wanna go to the waddin', 'cos them table guests have done me baaaaad... "

Now that is funny 😂

Hoppinggreen is an eminent poster with one of the best MN stories (the newborn and the layers of clothing)

I have never actually been accused of not being sarcastic enough but I promise I’m not OP

ThisUserNameIsAvailableOk · 20/09/2022 15:33

@7Worfs I know. That's why I thought it weird. Chill

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/09/2022 15:34

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, ask the bride and groom to move you. Do they know you don’t get on with these two people? Or decline. But if they’ve done a table plan it can’t be far off so you risk falling out with the couple as well. Up to you.
