Haven’t done one of these threads for ages. How’s everybody’s Saturday? I had a really stressful shift at work so was glad to finish at 2. Unfortunately I’m working tomorrow as well. Had lunch then popped to Asda. It’s a beautiful day & I felt like I should be out somewhere enjoying the sunshine. Chilling at the moment with a glass of wine & I have written my meal plan for the coming week, including a lamb shoulder curry that’s made in the slow cooker. It’s on BBC Good Food. Wish you could just share it on Facebook instead of having to log in, as I don’t know my password & when I requested a new one the 6 digit code didn’t arrive. Anyway it sounds lovely. Hoping to use my slow cooker a bit more this Autumn/Winter. Going to watch Strictly in a few mins where they show you who is partnered with which professional dancer. Rose Ayling - Ellis will be a hard act to follow. She was incredible. DD13 in her room as per. DH is going for a bike ride.

We have been to the park for a playdate with the small one's new daddies. The introductions are going really well but I now have a very cuddly two year old on my lap. I can't quite get my head around the idea that we only have two more weekends together before he moves to his new life. More meeting daddies tomorrow before my DD and son-in-law come to say goodbye to him. We are going to all take him out for the day on Monday. Once he's in bed tonight I am going to have a gin and on of his Freddo's. I love fostering but absolutely hate the goodbyes even though I know it is the best outcome in this case.

I read your posts a lot.

You're bloody amazing.

So many children will have had a decent start in life and a promising future thanks to you.

Enjoy your Gin and the freddo!

Ds and i have had the house to ourselves today as OH has taken the other dc out for a big kid activity.

We've pottered about, I've done some washing, we watched a bit of Cars on Disney and dawdled to the park for a play. We've just had dinner and I'm getting him ready for bed. Then I might have a glass of something and meal plan (inspired by the op)!

took dc2 to first football match 🤩 then husband took 3 kids to a fun day at the new senior school. 4 went to pizza express and into the park to collect conquers. Made a Shepards pie and started watching the first Harry Potter with all 4 children youngest 7 under a massive/ gigantic blanket. Bliss🤩 and now got a glass of wine - going to finish it with some popcorn. All 4 are all laughing tonight makes your heart melt 🥰 I love it when they are all happy together 🥰

That is my cat and her stuff is overtaking the lounge!

I've had a lovely day, worked this morning but then had a great 2-hour sesh at the gym. Stopped at my friend's on the way home and had a glass of wine, put the world to rights 😎

Now home with more wine, this is where it gets weird. Squashed a huge cockroach 🪳 on the balcony, thought it was dead but then an army of ants appeared which started dismembering the 'roach which was still alive. Totally fascinating, I did intervene though and sprayed the bastards 😅

Enormous spiders are running amok, rubbing their willies on everything and positioning themselves under the sofas for strategic runs across the living room carpet when I return home.

Right now Paddington is on the TV which I am not actually watching and I am trying to summon the energy to make something to eat for me. My teens had a big lunch and then giant milkshake things and not hungry.
I also need to empty the washing machine. And maybe turn the light on and shut the windows in the lounge and draw the curtains. Very mundane.

Another Saturday evening alone wishing I had a partner to spend it with.

Dd has a rotten cold so she's in bed chatting to her friends on the phone.

Ds1 is playing Forza on the Xbox.

Ds2 is lying on the sofa with me as he has a sore throat.

l enjoy reading your posts and admire what you do @bloodywhitecat.
l have had a lazy day today, last day of my week off, got my son to help me heave bags of compost and farmyard manure into boot of car from local garden centre, he' s not happy re the smell and told me to order online next time😆.

SillyYak · 17/09/2022 19:58

DD has a cold so no swimming this morning, suits me as I’m premenstrual and just need to chill. DH took DS to library to meet my mum. Spaghetti for lunch then I fell asleep in the garden chair while DS napped.

We all went to the beach this afternoon, sat in deckchairs with tea (me), a pint (DH) and ice creams (kids). Then pootled about Waitrose and then came home for supper. Kids are in bed now thanks to DH and I’m on the sofa with a hot water bottle.

I'm pootling about t'interweb & browsing on here while debating a bag I've seen on Vinted. It's a couple of pounds more than I'm usually happy to spend on there & I can't make up my mind.

The girls are snuggled up in dd1's bed watching more Gilmore Girls, with a couple of bags of sweets to share.

We eventually went into town today, to the market but our usual stall didn't have much whereas it's usually heaving with fruits and veggies 🥲 I did bag a bargainous 4 mangoes for £1 though, which I will de-stone tomorrow for easier munching. And my boot, that needed the zip replaced, was back at the cobblers a whole week early, which made me happy (I may have let out a "yay" which the girls lauged at 🤣).

I'm off to bed soon, we've had Ofsted at school & it's been a hard work week & I'm knackered <yawn>
