Anyone else feel Kate was born to be a royal?

Watching the Queen's coverage all week & Kate looks like she was born for the role. (Also please don't turn this into a Meghan bashing thread, Meghan is equally beautiful & elegant but has chosen to be a non working royal which is why this thread is about Kate).
Even looking back at old school photos she looked so poised & elegant. She had an idyllic childhood, supportive parents & is doing a wonderful job in her new role.

Although Kate isn’t aristocratic, her family does have gentry generations up. So her bloodlines are aristocratic. I don’t think she has an easy life and I also don’t get the impression that William is the perfect family man the tabloids make out.

Christ, if you go back far enough my family has aristocratic parts of the family tree too. It means nothing (sadly, I wish some of their money had come our way!). Blood is blood, aristocratic and/or royal blood is not special.

She wasn’t born to be a royal no. Of course not.
She was born into a very wealthy family who’s wealth is old money and stretches back.
Her family are upper middle class and that also stretches back through previous generations.

Pretty sure her family had a successful business selling party supplies. They met while working for BA.

My DC had a relationship with someone who was lovely but complicated. Their mother was the matriarch immensely wealthy. Four children. She destroyed her first childs marriage throwing money at them whilst belittling the spouse. Daughters second marriage was to a wealthy foreigner. The other three fared little better she bought upon their marriages a mansion, a farm, etc.

She terrified me. The thought my child would be sucked into this world of material things. No philanthropy just self indulgence.

Katherine's parents are hard workers and good people. William has a nose for these things which borders on paranoia.

I don't think that's true about Carole or else she's a master of disguises. She seems very posh to me.

It is true as far as I've read. I think school fees were paid for by a grandparent iirc but that isn't usual at all.

Good old Kate loves killing pheasants and hunting deer, even took her 7 year old along for some of the fun. Nothing says nice girl like a taste for blood sports.

I must say I really like Lady Louise & her brother James, I think they will be very useful to the monarchy in later years & Lady Louise has grown up to be a beautiful, poised young woman.

And what are the opinion on James' looks? Or is it just the females who need to be constantly assessed for their beauty?

antelopevalley · 15/09/2022 15:51

"Catherine Middleton’s parents were self-made millionaires and she attended one of the best private boarding schools in the country. Her Royal Highness’s accent – and accents are something of a closeted national obsession – proclaims a privileged background to the British ear."

Kate's family are what the aristocracy call "new money".

You missed the point of the post you quoted.

No I didn't, I understood that that poster was saying her job was to be bland. I'm just saying that I don't think she could have kept up the pretence so well for so long if her real personality is opinionated, loud and pushy.

Yes it is the women who are constantly assessed for their beauty, lack of opinions, and ability to be charming to everyone, but especially men.

AbsentinSpring · 15/09/2022 15:54

One obvious point is that she's white

So are the vast majority of people in the UK. Why is being white a Bad Thing?

Well as long as it's served up on a dinner plate they've had a better life than chickens. Lean healthy protein low cholesterol will be good for George and the family .

SarahShorty · 15/09/2022 15:55

It definitely seems to be her calling, she took to the role like a duck to water. She's perfect.

James is considered handsome. As is Katherine. Pippa to a lesser extent

Yep, being beige in human form helps. So inoffensive it's almost offensive.

Yup

DreadingWinter · 15/09/2022 15:59

Many of us have had roles where we represent our town/city/country. We all dress appropriately and do the handshaking etc.

It's not difficult. Sometimes boring, sometimes tiring, sometimes exciting, but it's not a special skill that the new Princess of Wales has.

gnilliwdog · 15/09/2022 15:59

@justasking111 No, it's a fun tradition of the RF to chase terrified animals for miles and hunt them to death. I don't think Meghan was into it, nor Diana -so clearly there is a choice.

antelopevalley · 15/09/2022 15:59

@DreadingWinter I agree. Royalists talk as if no one else has ever done this.

derxa · 15/09/2022 16:02

This thread is hilarious. So many people berating the POW for being bland, uninteresting, lazy etc. I'd love to meet some of you who are going on like this. You must be utterly fascinating with your world leading careers (typing furiously on MN) 😆

DoAllMyOwnStunts · 15/09/2022 11:36

Yes, she is more royal than the royals!
I think being tall and slim helps.
I luff her.

I would pay good money to know what he exercise routine is!!

antelopevalley · 15/09/2022 16:04

She will have a professional trainer. If you have the money pay someone to do this and you will get an idea.

Blinky21 · 15/09/2022 16:09

Yes but I think she's a terrible role model for modern women, she never had an independent career, rather she waited around to be proposed to by a rich. She seems incredibly boring, I think the RF missed a trick by not embracing Mehhan as she is the kind of modern woman that would endear the Monarchy to future generations. As it is I think the Queen dying is the beginning of the end for the RF in the UK, which I don't think is a bad thing

You don't need to be interesting to be better than any princess, not just Kate. Having your own independent career or even a job would be enough. It is a low bar, IMO.

DreadingWinter · 15/09/2022 16:16

So how many of you are planning to marry your DDs to Prince George?

ReneBumsWombats · 15/09/2022 16:17

Mehhan as she is the kind of modern woman that would endear the Monarchy to future generations

I don't get the impression that she likes it very much.

AbsentinSpring · 15/09/2022 16:20

How does having a career necessarily make a woman more interesting. Or a good role model. Can't a woman just be an all round good egg?
