What is your employer doing about people who don't work Mondays?

I work in the public sector, Monday will be a day's paid leave.

So are people who don't work Mondays entitled to a different day? Would anyone have the nerve to ask?

Mine has said we’d been entitled to the extra day but I feel like I’d be taking the piss a bit so I’m not quite sure what to do.

What? It's normal practice. If you work full time (e.g. Tues to Thurs condensed hours) then you'll have a full day of leave to take another time.

If you work part time and Monday is a non-working day for you then you will have X% of full time x standard weekly working hours of holiday to take another day.

Any employer who doesn't do this is a joke and I'd leave immediately.

TheSpringyGuyAndTheCheeseEater I know it’s legally right and normally I would absolutely expect pro rata (I complained when a previous employer didn’t do it). I just feel a bit odd taking it for this.

Our company is closing and everyone is getting paid for the Bank Holiday leave. Anyone who doesn't normally work Mondays is given the TOIL.
If they do end up working (on approval of their local manager) they get normal overtime rate of pay.

Personally, id request the Tuesday off as bank
Holiday in lieu
