It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

Mmm, I'm not quite sure that's how the malicious shopping process actually works, although perhaps it's different where you are.

I think you’re being really silly. And I think you know you are also.

RamsayEaster · 12/09/2022 18:53

I’m Scottish and watched the video back
What a stupid young boy
What ever anyones opinion is there is a time and a place and just four days after the death of his mother , this is NOT that place 😡

Helgadaley · 12/09/2022 18:54

Despicable behaviour to heckle anyone in a funeral procession. This was his mother 's funeral.

Helgadaley · 12/09/2022 18:54

Procession

theworldhas · 12/09/2022 18:54

Interesting, most people support the heckler, even on the Daily Mail video website. Of course, Andrew is entitled to attend the funeral but making public appearances is fraught with risk so soon after the Epstein stuff. There would have been thousands in that crowd who thought the same as the young heckler. What did he expect?

I think you’re being really silly. And I think you know you are also.

The time to talk about silliness was before you felt moved to point out that malicious accusations aren't likely to work if the person making them says it's a malicious accusation.

lemmein · 12/09/2022 18:54

In this country a 16 year old can legally consent to sex. His accuser was by her own admission 17.

A vulnerable, trafficked person CANNOT consent - that's like saying 'err how were you raped? You're 30!' 🙄

I'm not interested in semantics, nor am I interested in being respectful to a man who has used his position to evade justice. You crack on though...

Perhaps she didnt flinch because it was entirely innocent.

Please. This insinuation about him and his daughter is way too much.

It is way too much I agree. I really really hope it was innocent. But it really didn't look it... I did post a link to the footage but It's being checked out by MN so it may or may not appear.

Mmm, this is why I think it was an unwise call by the RF.

Good. I do not feel sorry for his children or siblings either. I feel sorry for the women he abused.

This ^

Facecream · 12/09/2022 18:56

@Brideandpredjudice
Are you my MIL (who asked if my Irish Catholic from ROI parents are royalists and thinks the “only thing” the queen did wrong was not coming out to see Diana’s floral tributes earlier than she did)?
Or the queen’s ghost, defending her precious son?
Innocent people do not pay millions of pounds to “liars” , do they?

CambsAlways · 12/09/2022 18:56

Bloody hell heckling is worse than being a sex offender, jeez!

Too much for whom? Did you watch the clip and do you really think that‘s a normal interaction between father and daughter?

So allegedly raping a 30 year old makes you are a paedophile?

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 12/09/2022 18:58

Incorrectly calling a man a paedo whilst he is publicly grieving his Mum is not respectful.

He didn't. He said 'You are a sick old man'.

The footage a PP mentioned above is all over Twitter and attracting a good deal of commentary. I think people already know amply what he is, without dragging his daughter into it.

It must have really stung to be the only one not in ceremonial dress. That’ll do me for now.

I agree. Particularly as he had actually seen active service.

QuebecBagnet · 12/09/2022 17:41

I was talking to someone yesterday who actually defended him though, said if she’d been English it wouldn’t have been illegal because she was 16yo and as a handsome Prince he was used to girls throwing themselves at him. But as I said, it’s not like he was 20yo at the time! He was n his 40s and is a creepy pervert. Don’t think I convinced her though.

I think the problem is more about the fact that the young woman in question had been groomed and trafficked, rather than what country they were in. That is a crime whether she was American or English and whether she was 16 or 26.

And yes, he wasn't a handsome prince he was a creepy middle aged man.

Georgyporky · 12/09/2022 19:00

It's all over YouTube - don't know why HO took down the link

lemmein · 12/09/2022 19:00

Reposting because the bold didn't work and I don't want my words to be associated with apologist comments.

It likely stung to get shouted at too, even if the person did get assaulted by a couple of the more fawningly contemptible members of the public for his troubles. I can't imagine this is how Andrew wanted the event to go.

A lot of posters on this thread have called him a Paedo.

@Seemslikeaniceday if you think that's what I said I can't help you.

Vanderpump · 12/09/2022 19:01

Hell scud it into him , he's enjoying being in the public eye again

fatgirlslimmer · 12/09/2022 19:02

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 12/09/2022 18:27

Whatever else he did or didn't do, he was a UK diplomat who flagrantly abused his position and hung out with known, convicted sex offenders. Actions have consequences. And one such consequence is if you behave in such a way, you'll become persona non grata on the public stage.

His mother supported him, protected him, and likely put up the funds for him to pay her off. However, respect for her or otherwise is immaterial here. She's the one person who will neither know nor care.

Republic.org have, in recognition that some citizens will be upset by her death, stated the intention of maintaining a respectful silence until after the funeral. The protestors' actions are not, admittedly, a good way to behave in front of a cortege (not really a funeral) and my first inclination was that they were not doing the republican cause any good at all. Now that I've seen the heavy-handed approach by the police, I've changed my mind.

People are being tackled to the ground and bundled off in handcuffs for expressing a bona fide political stance. One woman was arrested for holding a placard reading 'Not My King' in silence. There were no profanities, no abuse, no public brawling. Freedom of expression has been under serious assault in the UK for some time, stifled under the pretext of 'hate speech'.

If these protestors - primarily the police response - raise questions about this as well as the future of the monarchy, IMO it will be no bad thing.

This explains it perfectly

plus he’s a pompous twat who continues to embarrass his family

Facecream · 12/09/2022 19:02

At any rate, he’s a cunt, and cunts get heckled. Why would his mother’s funeral procession be a reason to feign respect for him? It is up to him to not upset his family and embarrass his children, who I’m pretty sure can handle the truth being yelled at them every once in a while, given the sycophantic shite they get served all the time.
