Get the bunting out, let's have a street party

I can't help that all this mourning and cancelling everything is against what the queen herself would have wanted.

I think we should get the bunting out, line up the street parties and celebrate her life.

We're having a street party tomorrow. It's been arranged for months. It's still going on.

Aww, good for you. I hope everyone enjoys it.

@LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet

So because my sons love playing football you’ve presumed they have no imagination to occupy themselves for the next two weeks? Right… okay, that comment says a lot about you really doesn’t it?

It is the principle of the whole thing. It’s incredibly OTT to cancel for the next two weeks. If people want to mourn good luck to them but we’re not all weeping for the next two weeks.

So complain to the organisers then. It’s not a National requirement.

No, she was an upholder of tradition and duty, and would support the traditions of a monarch who has passed. It’s not appropriate to have street parties when someone as cherished as the Queen dies

Absolutely.
