The queue typically starts at Hyde Park Corner, so head there to save time.

it’s a wonderful, reverent atmosphere ❤️

Thanks for the tip! We're going after school

mondaytosunday · 09/09/2022 12:47

And take the plastic off!

Haydugi · 09/09/2022 12:48

Thanks for the tip, how long did you wait for?

Or donate to the local food bank? Or any charity for that matter!

Sparklingbrook · 09/09/2022 13:02

YY consider donating to charity not buying cut flowers.

DesdamonasHandkerchief · 09/09/2022 13:07

Don't bother 🙄 and If you really feel you must as mondaytosunday said remove the plastic.

oreobiscitz · 09/09/2022 13:27

All those flowers wrapped in plastic

Why? Why? Why!

Are they stupid?

This!

And if you really must go, don’t be an Insta Wanker and pose for pictures just to show off on social media.

Oh for goodness sake. If people want to lay wrapped flowers, let them lay wrapped flowers. It's a one-off event and the 'waste' created will be comparatively teeny-tiny next to what most councils deal with on a daily basis.

Treay · 09/09/2022 13:32

Donate the money you'd spend on flowers to a charity she was a patron of or as PP said a food Bank. Better then a wasted sea of flowers

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 09/09/2022 13:32

Ah great tip, thank you! 😄

Interesting take on it.

I do already contribute to my local food bank and donate to charities.
Today I want to lay some flowers as a small mark of respect and gratitude to the sovereign I admired so much.
They are not mutually exclusive.

Agree. I'm going to donate extra to a charity I support.

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 09/09/2022 13:40

...please don't and do something useful instead?

oreobiscitz · 09/09/2022 13:41

It's not a one off event though

Diana died and there was a huge clean up
Op after with all the rotten flowers and discarded plastic and teddy bears

SquirmOfEels · 09/09/2022 13:42

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 09/09/2022 13:30

What do they do with all the flowers?

If they follow previous procedures:

After an interval, volunteers will sort through. And labels which are still legible will be kept. Any objects that are in good condition will be donated. Plant matter and biodegradable wrappings to compost. Everything else to landfill.

Knockon · 09/09/2022 13:43

yes for goodness sake, think about the waste before doing something so trite as putting cut flowers in plastic outside of a house belonging to a family who horde their wealth. Give to local charities, plant some seeds, sponsor a tree in the amazon?! Much much much better options

Choconut · 09/09/2022 13:43

Oh that's ok then, if it's happened before! It will mostly all go to landfill. The Queen had favourite charities, donate to one of them and then just go along without any tat.

Sparklingbrook · 09/09/2022 13:43

I heard earlier the flowers being laid were all going to be moved. Not sure where to I was not listening that intently.

megletthesecond · 09/09/2022 13:44

Take flowers from your garden and donate a fiver to charity.

RoseAndRose · 09/09/2022 13:44

Just seen pix on SKY, showing line all the way up Constitution Hill so yes it must be by Hyde Park Corner to join it.

But it's quite a narrow queue and it is moving
