Tell me your favourite comfort TV shows

Basically anything that is the TV equivalent of a hug. Particularly shows that are perfect for autumn/winter nights, the kind of thing it's nice to watch when it's dark outside and you're curled up under a blanket.

I've rewatched my favourites recently and want to start something new. Gilmore Girls is top of my recommendations and is great for autumn. Friends, How I Met Your Mother and Death in Paradise are all on my list too. I liked Parks and Rec but that seems to have disappeared from Netflix and Prime.

Nothing too sad or soppy please as I'm lonely and struggling after a breakup 😂

Bonus points if it's on Netflix, Prime, Disney+ or any of the free sites/apps

My favourite show is GG

I've always found When Harry Met Sally and Bridget Jones super comforting films.

A place to call home, Australian series wonderful.

RedRobyn2021 · 10/09/2022 20:41

I love lots of the things suggested, I will suggest something different

A Canadian TV show called Being Erica, look up the blurb on Google, it's one of my all time favourites

Also, Ugly Betty. I find that show such an easy amusing watch. Mark is hilarious.

Angelicapickles1 · 10/09/2022 20:44

Being Erica is fantastic!

This Is Us, on Disney I think.

It can be both sad and soppy at times, but I watched it when their was a lot of anxiety in my life and used to find it really grounding. It always made me feel very calm.

Figgygal · 10/09/2022 21:27

Friends
Buffy
Sex and the city

Endlessly drop inable

Remagirl · 10/09/2022 21:43

Call The Midwife ❤️

MadameOvary81 · 10/09/2022 21:47

Netflix: Grace and Frankie, Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. I also watched The Upshaws the other day and laughed non-stop.

Disney - The Golden Girls and Only murders in the building.

Prime - QI. Sandi Toksvig has a weird calming influence on me!

@ChubbyCapybara where can I watch the good witch?

There are 5 seasons on Netflix

OhHeySis · 10/09/2022 21:48

Pushing Daisies. Just a lovely show.

Also, and don’t judge me, I find Sarah and Duck very comforting.
