What do adults do for fun?

Stop sniggering at the back!

Trying to make a list to amuse myself this autumn/winter. Aside from the usual cinema/art gallery/museum.

So far I have:

Ice-skating
10 pin bowling
indoor climbing/bouldering/trampolining

Tried an escape room but didn't like it.

What else? I'm in Edinburgh btw.

Thanks

most of my ideas of fun keep me in the house 😂 sewing, crochet, reading. I do go running outside though

Sometimes the company makes a difference. I went to one with is friend and her other friends for her birthday and they were all really competitive and serious. Shouting over each other and ignoring peoples suggestions etc. I hated it

Also in Edinburgh, you have one more open night this year to try out forthcanoeclub.com/. They do paddle board, canoe and kayak courses and weekly club nights. Will probably go a bit quiet for a few months while the days are shorter and colder unfortunately, but we haven't stopped quite yet.

If and when it gets too cold/dark for paddling I'm going to look into clubbercise. Back in the day I loved ceroc for the feeling of having had a night out but still getting to bed at a reasonable hour to get up for work the next day.

Just remembered there is a beginners kayak course starting on Wednesday this week that had a couple of places last time I heard. Usually pretty sociable.

We have Escape Rooms down to a fine art in our family. The last one we went to DS (13) had solved the first puzzle in his head while the guy was still talking to us. We have learnt how important it is to really listen to each other and give everyone's ideas a chance.

Cycling - usually to a pub.

Dog Walking - circular route including pub lunch

Swimming in the sea

At home we watch box sets (currently enjoying Ozark) play the Nintendo and read books. - this is in the five minutes peace we have without kids.

I always think I do nothing but actually thinking about it;
-book club
-choir
-swim twice a week with a friend and once a week with the DCs
-cinema then lunch and wine with the DCs (they do not have wine though!) usually at pizza hut
-scrapbook
-learning a language (actually getting back up to speed on a language I did at university).

Does the Sheep Heid Inn still have the skittles alley? I can't find any mention of it online.
Try curling at Murrayfield www.trycurling.com/rink/edinburgh-murrayfield-curling/

Edinburgh has some amazing climbing walls. Try Eden Rock-the best fun thing I have found as an adult, affordable and the best exercise.
