What is your "cold dead hands" thing?

It's a phrase often trotted out about the luxury that you'd avoid giving up at all costs.

For me it's my sleephones. DH got me them a few years ago and I use them almost every night, as I've got one of those brains that goes into overdrive in the dark. My sleep would be so much worse if I couldn't rely on history or culture podcasts to stop me analysing every problem in my life!

They cost pennies to charge, maybe £5 a year. Go mad 😊

Good to know, thanks!

Asthma puffer. I like breathing.

After that, phone and sleep headphones are pretty important to me.

Somebody please tell me about sleephones - is the noise in your own ears inaudible to the other person sharing a bed with you? If it is they might just save my fucking sanity. Please one of you sleephone aficionados answer me! @glamourousindierockandroll @ZeroFuchsGiven @ShortOfShorts Please please tell me!

felulageller · 03/09/2022 13:09

Good moisturizer. Even when I was on income support in the olden days I still used Estée Lauder or similar.

If your face isn't worth it what is?

glamourousindierockandroll · 03/09/2022 13:10

Sleep phones are these. They're headphones but designed to be worn in bed so they don't hurt your ears or have wires to get tangled up in. I used to wear normal earbuds but these are SO much better!

@heldinadream yes, the other person can't hear a thing. That's the beauty of them.

Yes that is! But I genuinely thought it was cold head hands. Thought it was somehow related to everyone having a cold head and hands due to not being able to afford heating.

@raindon 😁

GreenLunchBox · 03/09/2022 13:14

It's sleepphones not sleephones. So many typos. I was so confused reading the OP 😂

declutteringmymind · 03/09/2022 13:15

My phone!!!!!!!

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/09/2022 13:15

Other than laughing at you (but only in jolly way) I have been quite tempted by sleep phones…

glamourousindierockandroll · 03/09/2022 13:16

@heldinadream and soon they'll be on your cold head too! 😂

Are they comfy OP?

glamourousindierockandroll · 03/09/2022 13:32

Yeah they're just like a light fleece headband with thin flat padded speakers in. I've had them for about 6 years now never had any issues.

These sound amazing and a bit of a life changer for me if they work, im about to order some. I sleep with headphones every night and it's uncomfortable but I still can't stop. I've tried ear buds and they are worse. Thanks op!

Or my library card.

dudsville · 03/09/2022 16:07

You should seek the company out for a commission OP, I'm off to check them out too!

Hotelhelp · 03/09/2022 16:10

Sleephones (although I never knew they were called that) have changed my life. You people need to get into Amazon pronto and get a pair ordered. Listen to the podcast ‘Nothing Much Happens’ and prepare for a whole new sleeping life.
