Recommendations for reasonably priced logo-free trainers for PE in reception please

Just as the title says really. Dd will be starting Reception in September and I think they'll be doing PE once a week. I am not sure if I want to spend about £40-50 ish for a pair of trainers that she'll only use once a week. They say the trainers can't have any logos either. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced logo-free pair of trainers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much x

I get my primary school DDs trainers from Sainsburys. Get Velcro, not laces.

HouseOfWaffles · 29/08/2022 11:25

Any supermarket will sell their own brand Velcro trainers. Or Next or Decathlon. Or Clarks.

Check if they will need them in the first term, mine didn't and had outgrown them by Christmas! They just did indoor pe in bare feet.

Do they have to be trainers? Surely good old fashioned plimsolls would be best for young children as they have better non slip soles (and cheap)

Notjustabrunette · 29/08/2022 22:35

I get my 5 year olds trainers from next.

Alton1234 · 29/08/2022 22:39

I was going to suggest the black plimsolls, otherwise Asda, Sainsburys or M&S.

MistressofMuppets · 29/08/2022 22:40

Shoe zone got me through primary school.
They wear well, cheap as chips and no logos

converseandjeans · 29/08/2022 22:42

Mine had plimsolls from M&S in reception class. They hardly wear them as they take so long to get changed. I think they were around £7?

backwhiteandredallover · 29/08/2022 22:44

Black daps with Velcro. They'll hardly see the inside of the school hall.

pinkpanther84 · 29/08/2022 22:50

Shoe zone have black trainers with Velcro, about £12. They're great and have lasted our kids well

Camomila · 29/08/2022 22:52

Am glad to hear the shoezone ones lasted well as I have ordered some today on Amazon.

(Both Tesco and M&S only had lace up PE trainers or plimsolls)

minipie · 29/08/2022 22:53

Decathlon, M&S, Next are all a good shout. Also Adidas Tensaur which are sold at quite a few places. Might have a logo but teeny and barely visible.

Pinkflipflop85 · 29/08/2022 22:54

Asda do some nice black ones with stretchy laces that don't need tying.

Titsflyingsouth · 30/08/2022 16:06

Mountain Warehouse have had a decent sale on kids clothes this summer. Bought black Velcro-fasten trainers for £17.

gogohmm · 30/08/2022 16:28

£8 from sainsburys/Argos
