Blackpool In the rain ......what to do?

So as our luck is ..we are going to Blackpool and it's forecast 3 days of rain when we are there.
So ...what can we do in the rain in Blackpool?
We were planning the zoo but doubt that will be much fun.
We were thinking the beach etc but obviously that's a no no now.
Please help...I don't want to have a rubbish trip

If the sea life centre is still there, that's mainly indoors I think. Tbh you might just need to embrace the rain! Obviously the arcades are open and indoors, not sure if the wax museum is too - that might be worth a check? If in doubt, cinema too?

Tower also the magician show in the tower is amazing - my parents took my children there 2 weeks ago …. All raved about it

Ted27 · 29/08/2022 11:21

Blackpool Tower
Dungeons
Madame Tussauds
Sea life
Tram ride
Piers for the arcades

Crazymadchickenlady · 29/08/2022 11:24

There’s a swimming pool there on the seafront called. The sandcastle. There are arcades and a shopping centre. You could get a tram. Blackpool tower also has lots to do inside.

Do you think it's worth doing the zoo in the rain?

We’re going to Llandudno for a week on Friday, and BBC forecast is saying rain every day - but other forecasts aren’t, and unsettled/changeable weather is just that, so you may well find it’ll hardly rain at all 🙂
The Lancashire coast is generally drier than inland anyway.
(And fwiw we had a family outing in Manchester last weekend on a day which was forecast, all week, to be wet. In the event it was sunny until early evening!)

checkyshirts · 29/08/2022 11:41

Well that is true
It's saying rain all day but then only 18% change ,20% chance so you never know

Zoo in the rain isn't brilliant. As you'd expect most of it is outside and the animals will hide if it's heavy rain.
You have:
Shopping
Sandcastle
Arcades
Sea life
Madam Tussaud's
Dungeons
Tower
Tower Circus
Mini golf
Tram ride all the way to Fleetwood
Take a drive to Barton Grange and the Flower Bowl. Nice garden centre with a lovely cafe, and the Flower Bowl has covered mini golf, curling and a comfy cinema.

It's rained almost every time I've been to Blackpool we still go to the beach and do the outdoor stuff my kids are weird though they love the rain less people around to bother them 😂

checkyshirts · 29/08/2022 11:55

Thankyou
Just booked the tower /dungeons /Tussaud's with the Kellogg's vouchers so saved a little.
Will wait to decide on the day about the zoo
We went last year and it was beautiful in the hot weather.

I'm originally from Blackpool, definitely worth a trip to the sandcastle it's really good. We did the soo last year in the rain and the kids still had a great time

JubileeTissues · 29/08/2022 12:18

The Blackpool ticket is half price at the moment.

03X · 29/08/2022 12:19

Sandcastle waterpark!

Paigeworkerx · 29/08/2022 12:26

Tbf the weather is often wrong as it’s less predictable due to the sea.

The sandcastle is worth a visit.

In Blackpool:
Madam Tussaud’s
Harry potter golf
the tower
sealife centre
illumations start soon, depends when you’re going
coral island (if you’re into arcades)
clip and climb
indoor trampoline
escape rooms
tower circus
depends on the age of the kids - Peter Rabbit explore

near by
flower bowl is a short drive away has mini golf, bowling, cinema, curling (Preston)
vue cinema (CLEVELEYS)

if the weather perks up
Farmer Parrs in fleetwood

checkyshirts · 29/08/2022 13:06

We are there the a few days after illuminations get switched on..one of the reasons I waited so late in summer holidays to book.
I just think it's lovely when the illuminations are on.
Gonna take the rain macs and wellys and just go with it
