What’s in your fridge right now?

My old fridge is empty awaiting the arrival of a new one shortly.

So for a bit of fun, what’s in your fridge right now?

I think this thread is in really bad taste after reading numerous threads on here of people really struggling to buy ANY food. I mean just look in active how many people are really struggling right now.

If this is freaking you out head over to Style and Beauty where people talk about whether to get a Chanel handbag or a Gucci handbag.

Are people not allowed to talk about their own lives for fear of offending people who have less? Should the people who have horses, or live in pretty villages, or have highly paid jobs, or fantastic relationships stay silent?

Tiamariaa · 24/08/2022 21:40

Envy is a deadly sin.

I worked and paid for what is in my fridge- the fridge fairies don't fill it for me.

I only bothered opening this thread to see how long it'd take for the "Thou shalt not talk about food shopping" posts to start.

They tend to liven up the "What's in your Christmas fridge" somewhat too.

Hardly any proper food because we are going away tomorrow - I think there is 1 carrot, an unopened pack of deli meats, 2 packs of feta and some cheddar, a bit of root ginger, a corner yoghurt and the last bit of a pot of Greek yoghurt, some grapes and some milk. Plus a million jars and bottles - mayonnaise, ketchup, mango chutney, aubergine pickle, tahini, sundried tomatoes, jarred peppers, garlic puree, ginger puree, miso, madras paste, tomato puree, several different jams, lemon curd, lemon juice, lime juice, kimchi, sambal oelek, Chipotle paste, sweet chilli sauce, oyster sauce, muhamarra, red onion chutney, chilli jam, redcurrant jelly, cranberry sauce... can't think of anything else and I can't risk waking the small child if I move.

@ZeroFuchsGiven

You really don't need to police every thread.

it's a site for adults & it's not compulsory to open every thread nor read every post. People can close a thread if the content is bothering them.

I wont quote you all who decided to jump on me.

I have been reading the threads on here how much people are struggling and I get them, I seen this post and I honestly thought it was another one of those threads 'whats in your fridge right now' can you make a meal, can we help each other out with suggestions' and I'm pretty sure others clicked thinking the same thing.

For what its worth, I do own a bloody sports car and I have 3 freezers, a fridge and cupboards full, BUT I have also been in the position that a lot of people are facing right now and I wouldnt be so stupid or unempathetic to start a thread or comment on this kind of topic! It beggars belief really that people are walking around with their eyes closed and not seeing what is going on around them.

Oh just had to get your brag a thon in did you??

jesus, some of us can hold more than one thought in our heads.

I can feel compassion for people struggling and at the same time I can play a 'Kim's game' with what's in my fridge.

get over yourself.

TeapotTitties · 24/08/2022 23:47

But you just have commented on this topic, to tell everyone you have a sports car, 3 freezers, a fridge and full cupboards 😂😂😂

Btw, how do you fit the sports car in your fridge? 🤔

Thestoppedfan · 24/08/2022 23:52

50 billion jars of sauces
some sad looking salad stuff
5 protein puddings from Lidl (I’m very pleased I managed to get my hands on some)
some ham that I’m 90% sure is out of date
lots of half packs of butter from baking
the remnants of a food shop- a stray yoghurt/ cheese string/ pack of cooked chicken half eaten.
I really need to do a shop!

I'm vegetarian & low carb, so by most peoples standards (my own included) my fridge is normally pretty boring, but it's especially boring at the moment as I cancelled lasts weeks tesco delivery as I'm trying to empty the fridge.

so kims game fridge edition as I can't be arsed going from my bedroom down to the kitchen.

about 30 jars of pickles, gherkins, beetroot, tapenades etc & a jar of jam, 3-4 bottles of different types of Mayo

4 blocks of anchor butter
about 4kg of total Greek yogurt
bottle of prosecco
cans of Pepsi max
bottles of water
olives (Costco THE BEST!)
2 packs of Cauldron BBQ TOFU
3 packs of cauldron sausages
ridiculous amounts of pre grated cheese
2 blocks of vintage Cheddar
1 piece of vegetarian 'Parmesan'
I tub of philidelphia
2 packets of celery
2 packets of radishes
2 packets of peppers
3 mini packets of Brussels sprouts
1 HUGE cucumber
1 normal cucumber
1 packet of mini cucumbers
1 300ml cream
1 packet of low carb noodles

that sounds a lot, but it looks pretty empty.

I think I'll cancel this weeks delivery as well and if it's cool enough to cook, run down the freezer as well. Then put some fresh stuff in.

No, I no longer have that!

I had been 'making do' with an under counter fridge for the longest time, as I need to replace my kitchen and don't really have space for a full size one until I do.

But then covid happened & the worry that there might be shortages & difficulties getting food delivered, actually in store. I ordered a large fridge freezer. Which has now sat in what I thought would be a massively annoying place in the kitchen. Turns out if you love something enough, it's not actually massively annoying 🤪

I really do love it & not having to dig around in the undercounter & coming across 'whatTheFuckWasThatWhenItWasFresh'

I highly recommend it! 🤪
