Are Yorkshire/Scotland too cold for a holiday in early November?

We'd like to go on a nice break to celebrate my DHs birthday and the anniversary of our first kiss (it's been seven years and for some odd reason it feels like a milestone!) I really like the idea of it, but also don't want to be soggy and cold (especially with a doggo and a 3yo)

Excellent Malie - you'll not be missed one bit Smile

Could go either way tbh. Sometimes it's a bit chilly and dry, sometimes it snows, sometimes it's mild and pissing it down. We don't know until it happens.

I think that It will be cold tbh its always cold in november but end of november going into December will definitely be bitter, if your thinking of going somewhere in November i would just be prepared for all weather types just in case. You'll have such a nice time In Yorkshire there is so much to do, I found this great website called Enjoy Yorkshire, so if you need any ideas of things to do then I recommend reading their posts!!

Edinburgh seems almost to have some form of micro climate and be less cold than many places in the north of England or southern Scotland.

Not sure how much you could do with a dog though in the city.

we can’t predict, but I got married in rural Scotland in November - it was a glorious autumn day, not a welly boot or raincoat in sight.

we often take a short break around or anniversary and the weather is often bright and beautiful.
