A Thread For Lovely Autumn Things!

I’ve got a little bit of the Monday blues as I keep thinking after next weekend summer is pretty much over and it’s time for the dark and cold again 🙄. Thought I’d try and make a list of nice autumn things to enjoy/look forward to so I can make the most of this next lovely season, anyone fancy joining?

So far I’ve got:

Getting out all my autumn candles, cinnamon/berry smells etc
Buying some gingerbread syrup for my morning coffees
Going to try and book to do something nice for bonfire night if anyone has any suggestions!

This morning is the first morning in a while I’ve put my dressing gown on to come downstairs and have my morning coffee! Surprisingly I’ve missed that lovely cosey feeling!

I've been changing my decor over already. Desperate to put the autumn wreath on the front door but it still feels slightly early, maybe the first week of school will be the earliest I can get away with. Bought some lovely new winter boots and some nice socks to go with them. Love autumn and winter and feel so ready to embrace to cosiness.

I tried to wear my fleecy PJs because I was a little bit chilly but then the sun came out and I melted!

I put some batteries in the candles and the fairy lights that surround the dining room fireplace so that when I read or write in the evening I feel cosy.

I did that today as well! It felt very cosy! I love being up before the rest of the household. In the summer I often sit in the garden and listen to the birds, but today I sat at my little table with my coffee and felt all autumnal as it was cool and still dark. Come January I'll be impatient for lighter mornings but I'm embracing it for now!

I love Autumn but never know what to wear. It's so easy to dress in summer or winter. I also have a high instep, wide feet and carry weight on my legs and bum so boots are a nightmare (have a lovely flat stomach and nice arms).

Me and my friend have taken October half term off and we're going to be forcing loads of autumn fun on our teens! Lovely walks like Stourhead, pumpkin carving and bonfires. Can't wait! Now I just need clothing advice!

I love,
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string

I have bought new throws from Brand Alley, hand washed woolly jumpers and scarves, tidied my Christmas cupboard ready to start gift shopping and stocked up on baking supplies.
Secretly ready to move on from Summer.

I love the cool breeze through the bedroom window at night and waking up to my room being cool. Yesterday was quite hot in the afternoon but I love the cooler evenings and mornings. I've made two crumbles so far. I've got the latest JK Rowling book (Robert Galbraith Strike series) and curling up in bed last night with it was bliss. I'm sad the summer holidays are ending but looking forward to the routine of back to school where I'll have a little time for myself instead of mummy, mummy, mummy every 2 minutes.
